When switching from one ACE inhibitor to another, is it necessary to taper or just substitute?

Why are you switching. .I would assume cost factors. But when you switch, there is really no need for a taper. i haven't advised any one to do so. But, I suggest you talk to you doctor. beta blockers: totally different story

No need to taper as there is no "competetive inhibition"(ie one coming in the way of other)among each other

Please do not do either until you talk to your doctor. Your doctor and your doctor only can make that call. This is not something anyone else can decide.
