That's just it. Illegally entry into this country is breaking the law. Remaining here is breaking even more laws Using false or stolen IDs are even more laws. Do I see a pattern here? The illegals have no respect for the law and see fit to just do what they want and not care about anyone other then themselves. And for those who don't understand what ILLEGAL means, maybe this will help. It is from the dictionary -

il·le·gal

adj.

1. Prohibited by law.
2. Prohibited by official rules: an illegal pass in football.
3. Unacceptable to or not performable by a computer: an illegal operation.

n.

An illegal immigrant

Main Entry: il·le·gal
Pronunciation: il-'lE-g&l
Function: adjective
: contrary to or in violation of a law

So according to the accepted definition illegal immigrants ARE breaking the law and as such they ARE criminals.

People are under the assumption all laws are right and reasonable.

Of course some are right and make complete sense. When someone commits murder, that person is usually caught and brought to justice.

In a perfect world all criminals would be brought to justice. However, some laws are not enforceable, and this immigration law is one of them. It makes no sense to have a law our government cannot enforce.

I suppose it is on the books to show you can't come here without documents, to save face. But if you really wanted to come here, you could do it and get away with it without ever being caught. So for me its silly to have such a law, which the govt. is not able to follow through with....

Who told you it wasn't a crime? Bush just has hardly enforced it.

In fact some areas are having dramatic results with a 'zero tolerance zone'. " If apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol, illegal immigrants are prosecuted by federal authorities for a misdemeanor, sent to jail for 15 to 180 days and then deported. If they are caught illegally entering the country a second time, they are eligible for a felony charge of illegal entry and as much as two years in federal prison."

so is stealing bubble gum but I dont see anyone making a big deal about it..funny how you can kill someone if they walk through your back yard and that's not a crime....by the way I think Human Rights are more important than the rights given to us by the constitution..and those do apply to evreyone according to international agreement

~Crossing the border isn't a crime. I go from New York to Pennsylvania all the time, and they don't even make me go through customs. In fact, the only border I've ever had trouble with is Ohio, but who in their right mind would want to go there?

Good question. Remember now, illegals are they only ones who are above our laws. Seems that way. They commit serious crimes and haul *** back across the border to hide from prosecution, or have so many id's they can't be found.

Confused Liberals think that non-citizens somehow have rights under the U.S. Constitution. So we don't have the right to hurt the feelings of illegal immigrants or terrorist detainees in Gitmo.

bcptm....people who live in PA would want to go to Ohio to buy fireworks, but thats the only reason ever

It IS a crime,Renegade!! ILLEGALS are picked up,booked, then released, with a time to show up in court for a hearing, which they NEVER do!!!! We ALREADY have laws on our books,to deal with illegal immigration!! But,because of the big business people who want the "cheap" labor, these laws are NOT being enforced!!!
But, THEIR "cheap" labor is COSTING the U.S. taxpayers PLENTY!!!!!!
ALL illegals need to be DEPORTED!!! ANYONE who has EVER sneaked into this country, should NEVER be given citizenship!!! Their EMPLOYERS need to be ARRESTED, FINED and JAILED!!!

It is a crime . However , if we chose to prosecute the crime and then make them serve jail time it really defeats the whole purpose of sending them back. It is sort of like suspending a kid for 3 days from school because they skipped school.

jose is right about one thing, there is an international accord that recognizes several human rights and it also cover most of what is included in the geneva convention, howsever not all countries signed it (most african dictatorial countries did nto and most communist countries id not as well as several middle eastern countries did not)
about killing someone in your back yoar?

a pure fabrication it would be illegal in all 50 states as wel as all US territories!
as for the original question, Julie summed it up quite well
