I've had my cat Sassy for about 10 years now. When we took her on her first vet checkup, the vet said that she was Siamese. However, she doesn't look like a full Siamese to me. Does anyone know where I can look to perhaps find out if she's full or mixed? Or perhaps could someone tell me if they recognize any other breed characteristics in her? She's fairly large for a cat, most people think she's a male because she's bigger than most females.

I've been told that she might have part calico as she has those orange markings.

She isn't usually very vocal unless she is wanting food or she's in a closed room and wants out, then she has a very loud, mournful meow.

Thanks to all who say she's pretty! I think so too. :)

My grandmother just revealed to me that she saw kitties in a pet store who looked almost exactly like my cat who were Siamese/Calico. So, I suppose that answers my question. Thanks to you all for helping me with my question!

She, basically, looks like a Seal-point Siamese or (Seal-point) Balinese, but with "calico" or "tortoiseshell" mixed into her. "Balinese appeared as a spontaneous mutation in Siamese litters in the U.S. in the 1950s", a book I have reads. A Balinese is considered a longhair, but its hair is short in comparison to other longhairs. Seal-points are born all white and their contrasting body and point colors develop gradually.

I have a few of these cats -- strikingly beautiful! They were born to a mostly black cat (with white toes and bib) that also had black/white, calico, and a tortoiseshell kittens. (One looks Balinese; two look mixed, like yours.)

There may be better places to look, but I have a book [Source below] that perhaps you can find in a bookstore and just look at the pages I'm drawing this info from. There are pictures of these cats. Or, I can e-mail you the pages from this one. (I'll be happy to do it.)

[EDIT] I e-mailed you the book info you requested (five attachments). I hope you got them. :)

What a cutie!!! Although I do not think that she is full blooded siamese. She looks like she is part calico.
My fury girl's mom is a black cat and her daddy is a full blooded siamese, and Fookie looks like a full blooded siamese, just like her dad. Her k-9 little sister is a chihuahua amed Xena. Got her from a rescue and she was really shy and afraid of everything so I had to give her a strong tough girl name. And now she is turning in to a warrior princess, ok more princess than warrior. Fookie is my body guard. Sorry I am rambling I just love my fury girls!

She sure looks to have alot of siamese in her. Its hard to tell in the photos cos some of them look like she has some different markings..but that could be camera glare or something. My guess would be siamese mix.....with more siamese then anything else.

I think your cat is definitely half Siamese or Tonkinese with some Tortoise Shell. Lovely kitty!

She looks like a siamese mix to me, but to be sure you could get a hold of your local cat fancy society. They do cat shows, so knowing pure bred cats is what they do. You might also ask local breeders.

I think she is a Seal Point Siamese. They are a bit larger than a regular Siamese.
