Should we or should not we accept money from unbelievers to support the cause of faith? What do you think?

Well, the country I lived in before, have church taxes. You do not learn to be a cheerful giver. People do not go to the church so much, but they do not separate from the church unless they are pretty much atheists.

When King Salomon built a temple he accepted gifts from Gentiles. ( 1 Kings 5:10, 2 Chronicles 2:13-16 ), Moses did not reject gifts from Egybt ( Ex 12: 25-36 )

God's work supported by God's people. Those who benefits spiritually from the teachings, they shoud support their leaders.

Never sell the truth ( 2 Cor 11:17 )

Passage in 3 John does not say "Never take money from unbelievers". It noted that these believers on this journy did not accept help from the heathen.

We should not expect unbelievers to support the cause of faith.

Would you attend the Christian church supported by Usama bin Laden or Saddam Hussein?

Maybe this helps some of you to understant this question better.

I believe that money is already being taken from unbelievers to do Gods work, and has been going on since the beginning of time. Moses went to his future father n laws lands and became prosperous. God uses all avenues and all resources to get er done.

Yes, we should accept money from any and all, think of this way, everything originated from God, so why wouldnt we use it. No matter who gives it, it comes from God.

accept money or take money? there is a big difference.

I mean, why would a nonbeliever give money to a cause they didn't believe in.

And why or HOW could you justify TAKING money from them?(assuming taken means by force)

How would this question even come up? Did an atheist try to give your church money? Cuz that would be odd.

How do you know the person who gives money to support the cause of faith in an unbeliever?
If he gives money than i think he/she believes in the cause.
Has nothing to do whether they believe in God or not.
I don't believe but I always support the Salvation Army!

Why're you complaining if unbelievers give you financial support for your religion? It's called "helping each other out" and obviously, this unbeliever is more mature about religious philosophies than you are.

Yeah, make your cheque out to; 'committee advocating self help'. Or you can abbreviate the name if it's to long. CASH.

Seriously, that is called 'heavenly deception'. It is practiced by more than a few fundraisers. It is better to give privately to a local charity. The same principal applies to your tax dollars.

Have you lost your ever lovin mind? Churches are same as politicians...got one hand out and the other in your pocket!

They don't give a rats a** where money comes from..they either justify it or launder it. REAL WORLD!

I'm an unbeliever. Come for my money and leave with my lead!

That would be very unfair. Money represents their hard work (or somebody who gave it to them out of their own hard work). Only if they willingly give it , it is correct. Even willingness should not be out of persuasion from non-believers, it should be voluntary.

I think if they want to support the cause of faith... by all means let them, maby the Lord lade it on their heart to support the church. :-)
