My feet and legs are in pain all the time. My feet mostly. They feel hot (on the inside) and achy. Like I have been walking for days. They are always like this. Massages don't help, they actually cause it to hurt more. Does anyone else have this problem and what do you do for it? I also wake up with muscle spasms almost everynight. The doctor gave me muscle relaxers but then I have a hard time the next day getting up and being alert. Thanks

I have this very same problem...it's called diabetic neuropathy in your feet, also known as:
Charcot foot is a deformity that results from nerve damage (neuropathy) in the foot or ankle. The nerve damage causes a loss of sensation that increases the risk of injury to the feet; when the foot is repeatedly injured, the weight-bearing joints start breaking down. Early signs of Charcot foot include redness, swelling, and increased temperature of the foot.
Theres really no cure, just take pain meds and tell your Dr about this so he/she can keep up with it and always check for any damage or sores and tell your Dr right away if you see anything unusual. Sores and damage can get infected and cause gangreine and then amputation.

Well, let me give you some of my personal experience. For 52 years I experienced evening onset acute leg pain. Nobody could find the cause. I hated to go out at night because the pain would start and I would be extremely uncomfortable.

A friend of mine suggested I try a product that scavenged free radicals from the bloodstream. It is called OPC, and within two weeks of starting taking this product the pain left my body for the first time since I was three years old. I continue to take the product and have experienced no recurrence.

My wife and I decided to try a low-carb diet and in the third week we both started to experience cramping of the feet and legs at night. I talked to this same friend and she suggested I try some Isotonix Calcium. We take one capful (about a tablespoon) each day and the cramps have gone. Twice my wife had middle of the night cramps in her feet and I ran for the calcium and within five minutes the cramps left.

I think you should take a look at the website of my friend Janie and perhaps discuss this with her.

They actually have something that helps nowadays for diabetic neuropathy. They put it on your legs and it helps with circulation which is what is causing your pain. Ask your doctor about it, as he has to order it.
The part that wraps around your leg is plastic, and it hooks to a machine that blows air into it causing it to balloon up. I've been told it works very well for this, but I can't remember what it is called, sorry. Your dr. should know though.

Ask your doctor to prescribe Naproxen otherwise called Naprosen -it's an anti-inflammatory and won't make you sleepy or alert-it's neutral and you can take it at night and in the daytime too (once or twice per day) it will prevent muscle spasms and this restless discomfort that you have.

It seems to me to be some type of inflammation tied to a circulation problem. You need to treat the inflammation by taking something like Naprosyn/Naproxyn (which I used when I had similar problems in my neck). You may also wish to speak to a chiropractor or a podiatrist; some of these professionals have unique ways of assisting you in improving your circulation flow.
