That sounds very strange... why would anyone want to give her child HIV and how would you know about this secret plan???
Does the mother have HIV? Or does she plan to get it from an outside source?
And how would this master plan work itself out? Are you sure that your friend is not being paranoid and telling you tall tales?
There is a psychological syndrome where a mother will attempt to give her child a disorder or disease so that she (the mother) will recieve alot of pity and sympathy... but it usually involves poison by a household chemical or a tragic accident of some kind. And it usually takes place when the child is too young to explain anything to the authorities... I think it's called Munchausen Syndrome.

Hi,
Your friends Mum is trying to give her daughter HIV? God her Mum must be completely crazy.
It is illegal what she is doing and if her Mum does give her HIV - her Mum will go to prison. Report your friends Mum to the social services, hospital and/or doctor. They can sort her out. God knows why she would want to do this to her own child. Its disgusting. Unless she has some kind of mental issue going on.
HIV is transmitted through having unprotected sex. Sperm and vaginal fluids can pass on HIV. HIV can also be transmitted by blood. For example if your friend has a open cut or sore on her hand and she see's someone who has a bleeding sore/cutt on their hand and unbeknown to her this person has HIV, and your friend touches this persons blood and the blood gets in her sore - it can cause HIV.
Definitely report this women to someone. The authorities. The police will sort her out. It counts as GBH in UK now.

obviously, Im missing something here.......why would her mom wanna give her HIV? The only ways to get it are unprotected sex with an infected partner, sharing needles with an infected person, or blood transfusions..although they are very strict with that now. Basically her body would have to come into contact with an infected source and it would have to enter through a body opening or through a break/cut in the skin.

The way you word it,is her own mother is trying to give her daughter HIV and if that is the case that is against the law and you should contact the police immediately even if she does not want you to.Do your best to protect her. That is child abuse and she needs help.

That is just wrong. You need to tell an adult so they can help. All that has to be done is have blood contact with an infected person, or have unprotected sex with an infected person. A simple cut with blood mixed with blood from a cut infected persons can transmit it. Seriously tell social services or a teacher or someone who u trust to help u.
