Actually, I think this question should really be under Philosophy, since Chip Shop Curry Sauce is a model of the Universe.

Like the Universe, nobody really knows who created it or why. Its ingredients are largely a mystery and it is not a uniform distribution of matter although its presence is ubiquitous and apparently infinite - there is ALWAYS curry sauce, whatever chip shop you visit.

It contains some known, identifiable ingredients, such as (in some places) currants or sultanas, which may be compared to the denser concentrations of matter like stars, suns and planets, but there are also bodies about which we know nothing - such are the unexplained, glutinous lumps which are devoid of any flavour. They may, indeed, represent those 'dark holes' about which we know so little. One day, perhaps, one will bite on one and fall into an entirely different universe where chip shops take the place of currants and the unidentified lumps are Chinese and Indian Takeaways.

Its the cornflower that makes the sauce go thick. They clearly havent whisked probeley. The orange pieces are usually apple or orange peel, you can buy packs of these mixed in with the sultanas.
