It sounds very healthy, but you need to be sure you're getting enough B12. Be careful that you don't get to the point where you weigh too little for your height. I'm assuming plenty of fruits and veggies?

Eat what you want to eat. Being vegetarian is a label that many can't cope with. If you want to cut out some foods do so. Your diet sounds OK as long as you eat a varied diet. If you want to eat chicken or fish, go ahead.

I am a vegetarian but I hate people who preach you must do this or that because of a label.

As long as you feel well and are careful about your vitamins and minerals, proteins (good carbs) and things then you will stay healthy.

Just don't get bullied to eat something you can't or don't like.

Good luck and stay healthy!

Sure it can be healthy. I would look at the slim fast though - if you go to a health food store there can be healthier options. Check the ingredients of slim fast - it can have artificial colours and sweeteners (which can be much worse than real plain sugar) - you can find lactose (or whey) free protein drinks at health food stores - granted they might not taste as good, but hey its worth a shot. They can taste great if you mix them with strawberries or other fruits.

As far as the diet thing - many people are vegeterian and don't eat dairy. It's fine, you just need to keep an eye on your diet. Make sure you are eating lots of legumes to make up for the lack of protein - some of my favourites are chickpeas, lentils, navy beans, and of course, tofu. These go great in all sorts of dishes, there are many many great recipes you can find. If you are into looking for a cookbook, check out How It All Vegan and La Dolce Vegan - these are completley animal - free recipes - no chicken, no eggs, no milk, no nothing. Just good pure plant proteins!

I would also look into alternatives to Special K. General Mills isn't exactly known for their healthful attitudes. Check out local health food stores for a great selection of organic cereals.

I'm kind of scattered in this answer but I think I covered everythign I wanted to mention.

The things that you're eating look pretty healthy, but to make sure that you're getting enough nutrients, it'd be a good idea to add some things to that. Things like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains are important to your body for more than just the vitamins that you can get from slimfast or a vitamin pill. You don't have to eat a ton of weird stuff to have a healthy vegetarian diet, but find some fruits and veggies that you like and can eat regularly. I'm not sure how much of each thing you're eating every day, so I can't be sure how you're doing on vitamin intake, but it probably wouldn't hurt to add a multivitamin to make sure that you're getting all of the necessary vitamins too. You also need to make sure that you're getting enough protein, whether it's from chicken or from things like nuts, beans or soy. You don't need a TON of it, but you need to make sure that you do at least get some every day to keep your body healthy and functioning well.

Do you feel awefull for eating an animal...as in...it died for you OR do you actually feel ill or do you have symptoms after you eat beef? Try eating oragnic beef, or buffalo instead. Try Ostrich! Stay away from SlimFast! Make your own soyshakes, using fruits and soy milk or soft tofu. Include 2 eggs or 3 a week for other protein. Be sure and eat lots of fruits and vegetables every day and at every meal. Add a handfull of nuts every other day and do put some olive oil on your salads. If you are not sure, write down everything you eat for one week, and then consult a dietician.

Add colorful veggies and fruits to your diet. Whole grains, cultured yogurt, and a multi vitamin are good. Slim fast is ok but not a long term solution to weight loss. Stay away from white foods and stick to natural, unprocessed things.

Meat is a source of protein, if you give up meat substitute nuts or somthing else for protein. Sounds like you need to do more research before you do this, or talk to your doctor. If you dont want to talk to your doc at least do research on the internet.

Before changing your diet (the foods we eat, not so much as losing weight, as people assume "diet" means), talk to your doctor.
Some people can go vegetarian and live healthy lives, just as well as us carnivores.
