I know so many people like that and it annoys me so much! And the person who said that they are confused teenagers is right. I'm a teenager and a vegeterian and when I tell my friends they say something like "omg you're so cool! I'm a vegeterian too! I only eat chicken and fish and salads" and I get so frustrated. They don't consider chicken or fish meat for some reason, maybe because they are morons.

I don't eat meat apart from some fish very occasionally, but I must admit if I am going anywhere I say I am vegetarian as I would rather not eat fish out, and be offered a vegetarian option.
Before anyone has a go... I eat a bit of salmon and tuna to make sure I get enough omega 3 and also I do make sure the tuna are dolphin friendly.
It does my head in though... people always ask if you eat chicken when you say you are vegetarian... um... no.

Some people call themselves vegetarians if they don't eat meat and some of those vegetarians don't consider fish and chicken to be meat. They would say they are "seafood" and "poultry" well, I would have thought that anything with flesh would be meat, whatever it is. I think some people just like to pretend or they are just so fussy and think it is easier to just say they are a vegetarian than to say they only like a couple of things.
BTW, a veggie diet is not healthier than a "regular" diet because you don't get all of the nutrients, etc. and there are things which are absorbed more easily from meat. I don't know if you knew this but a lot of vegetarians, and particularly vegans, are underweight and anaemic because they don't get enough iron in their diet, of which red meat is the best source.

because vegetarian books have included words like pesco (for seafood) to add to the type of vegetarian you would be. If you eat eggs, dairy, and seafood, that would make you a pesco ovo lacto vegetarian. Therefore, you wouldn't eat any animals that come from land.
I don't understand people who eat only chicken calling themselves vegetarians though- you're right.

I'm not a vegetarian, but I honestly don't think anyone who eats any kind of meat should call themselves a vegetarian, surely VEGetarian means eats only VEGetables. Silly people! :)

I eat lamb, pork, fish, chicken, turkey, tuna, ham, sausages (made from meat), beef, but besides eating all that meat, I'm really a vegetarian :P
OK I'm a silly sausage, aargh I'm a sausage, hmm I'll be a Lancashire one, then I won't eat myself, cos they're yucky.
