The apple skin is usally eaten with the apple and has dirt and other things that needs to be washed off while the banana has a cover on to protect the fruit onced peeled is ok to just eat.
But the main reason is my dog has fluffier ears than you.

Assuming that you asked this question because you don't eat both apple peel and banana peel, the reason why we wash an apple before peeling it is to ensure that the dirt or chemicals on the skin (pesticide, wax, etc) do not get onto the blade and passed to the peeled apple. Banana peels easily without any stuff on the outside getting onto the inside.

Because with a apple you see what you eat. Unless you don't like the skin and skin it. But with a banana the food you actually eat is inside. So whats the point of washing the skin for a banana if your not gonna eat it?

Actually, I wash both. I was watching a cooking a show and they suggested it because they mentioned that the pickers have to go to the bathroom at times and usually there are no port-a-potties with running water to wash hands. After, they keep on picking. they suggested that you wash all fruit in warm water and soap. You rinse well after. With some fruits, you should use a vegetable brush - cantaloupe... With eating a banana, you may accidentally touch or the peel may touch the part being consumed

Most people eat an apple's skin, so that should definitely be washed beforehand. A banana is peeled before eating, and I don't know anybody who eats the peel.

You have to wash an apple as you eat the skin and you dont know who has touched it or what it has been sprayed with. You peel a banana so the skin is peeled off.

You wash an apple, not a banana because noone eats banana peels, while you may eat the apple skin.

Because when apple growers spray their orchards with insecticides some of it sticks to the skin of the apple. Also produce packers have been known to spray a very thin layer of wax on apples to help them look shinier and more appealing.
I don't think I would want to eat either of those chemicals.
Best wishes,
