how do you get a red wine stain out of a cream carpet?

try Vanish OXY carpet stain remover. I spilt red wine ona gold carpet and that brought it off.

I am not a very good housewife, and I'm afraid I don't know. You could try "2001 Carpet cleaner" (in UK, probably similar ones elsewhere in the world)

I have two sons and four cats and I love red wine. I avoid pale coloured furninshings.....

You could buy a rug to cover the stain?

i was once told by a professional carpet cleaner that only fairy liquid (washing up soap if not English) is safe to clean carpet with, as all these brands that claim to get rid off stains seal the stain in if its not removed fully.
a good scrub with soapy water gets anything out.
if that doesn't work a rug over the top of it will!!

Try pouring on a little white wine & then sponging it very carefully.
This works if the spill has just occurred but I'm not sure about once it has dried in.

Cut it out, get new carpet.
why would you have cream carpet in the first place?
Dont drink white wine!

dont use salt. its an urban myth that may even do more damage.
Use vanish foam carpet cleaner. trust me. there isn't a piece of my carpet that hasn't had stuff spilled on it from time to time and the vanish always does the trick!

soda water and plenty of it just keep mopping it up and maybe add i tiny bit of white vinegar to the soda water, if in doubt get someone in to do it.
