osteopath told me this one, lie on your front place your hands by your shoulders elbows bent and slowly push your upper body up, just a little, this helps put all the muscles etc in the right place.
microwavable heat pads are great, with a couple of anti inflam painkillers, long term you need a physiotherapist to learn the exercises that strengthen the muscles in your abdomen

It really depends upon the cause. If it is muscular then rest, hot baths and a massage will help. If it is a spinal injury, there are few cures. Maybe surgery. However, for pain relief the only thing that really helped me was acupuncture. But research the practioner really well, if possible get a personal recommendation.

A good straight ergonomic chair and some gentle yoga exercises (the Cat is good) to strengthen it.

But do talk to a proper physiotherapist or chiropractor - the wrong movements or strengthening the wrong muscles could make it worse.

You could try massaging yourself. Place a ball between your back and a wall, (may be in somethig like a pillowcase or sock, depending on the size of the ball) lean against it and roll it gently around like a slow hoolahoop motion.

Strong abdominal muscles, correct usage of the back, adequate rest, ice for 15 minutes for pain, then moist heat for 15 minutes then ice, heat, and so on.

I have used a magnetic belt for the past 3 months and it has helped greatly. I still take ibuprofen but it generally it much better.

I do sit ups. My belly is beter off for it and it streches my back muscles , I t works fo rme especially on a rugged floor.
