yes up to 24 hours before. most hospitals will not allow smoking,taking of medication, or eating/drinking after midnight before the day of the surgery

NO you should stop smoking...3-4 weeks beforehand.
Smoking affects your Blood pressure which can affect yoru recuperation. As well have other affects such as affect how much you bleed during surgery.
But in actuallity ask your doc or surgeon is the best answer.
Again it woul dbe better to know what kind of surgery. something major, then no smoking. minor might be ok. but doubtful.

if you have arms, you most certanlly can. if you don't, you still can but will need someone who will hold the cig!
