The original Bible is the words of Allah ( God ).
The present bibles ( about 23 ) are some books which were written by different people, ( king, saint, Pop...etc.) It has turned to be a book sort of a biography about the life of Jesus (PBUH), but more or less it represents the outlook of the author or and the time he lived in.
No one could bring the original bible and present it to us.

The same type of people who wrote the koran I would imagine since there are so many contradictions in the koran also: Fallible men who believed that they were prophets and spoke for God (or Allah, if you prefer). Some of the Bible and of the koran is historical. To jana_bo_nana, jessica, and Brian : I have read a contradiction in the bible. One says "an eye for an eye" and the other says "turn the other cheek". I realize that I may be taking these lines out of context and there may be a logical reason why they seem to be contradictory. As a student of religions (adherent to none), I found much in common among them all, but the "rule" I like best is called "The Golden Rule" : "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". All major religions have a similar version. If people of ALL religious persuasions were not so hypocritical and intolerant of others beliefs, (in other words, if they actually followed what they professed to believe) this world would be a safer and happier place for all. Peace, Shalom, Salaam Alaykum.

The Bible was written by 44 authors over about a 1500 year span of time. There are no contradictions and I defy you to name one..in fact no one has been able except and in where they take a scripture from the context in which it was written and pair it with another doing the same. The cohesive unity of the Bible from begiinning to end has stood the test of time sense it came into print for the common man..exactly when scripture prophesied that it would...read Revelations regarding the two witnesses. The accuracy of the Bible, except for what are considered copiest errors..few and far between, has withstood scrutiny for hundreds of years now and no one has been able to tear it down though many have tried. Believe what you will...but, sincerely...study it first and then study how it came to be...your eyes will be opened..and so will your heart. Love in Christ, ~J~

It's because the bible is a collection of different books put together. In the beginning of the early church there was hundreds of christian scriptures and gospels, they settled for just for four, and the question should be why just four? that's the reason why it's so contradicting, we not getting a complete picture.

according to what i learned in school..the bible is written by early Christians and by God. let's just say God sort of had guided these early Christians to write it. God is the main author and man is the co-author of the bible.
Actually the bible isn't filled with contradictions..the human mind is so limited to connect the truths that the bible tells however there is a proper way of interpreting the bible..how? i don't know..let's save that for another question.. :-D

The King James Bible 1611, is over 400 years old. It came directly from the Greek bile and was prayed about before it was written to insure accuracy. The newer bibles NIV, Living bible, and others were written by men that just wanted money or thought that they could do it better. The NIV left out over 64000 words in it. This changed the meaning of many scriptures and left out many. The original bible came directly from GOD to the prophets, which wrote down what he said and compiled the book which we call the bible. The bibles that are written now come from man for profit. It says in the KING JAMES bible, Revelations22:18,19...For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, GOD shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of this prophecy, GOD shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. I go by the King James 1611. You can go to bibleprobe.com and get a lot of information on some things you may wonder about.

There are some overlappings, repetitions, misinterpretations, wrong comprehensions etc because The Holy Bible was not written by a single author and the book is transliterated to every known language of the earth.

The bibles are not contradicting. It's just that people have different interpretations and understandings due to customs and culture.
