A Catholic friend of mine told me recently of the reason she converted. As a child she has to go to church to confess before she goes to school.
She was from a well off family and the only child.
Confessing means she has done something wrong but she often had to lie to the FATHER to make the confession worthwhile going for, till finally the FATHER realised there was something wrong when she asked for his forgivness as she hit her little sister ( She was the only child )..!
When asked by her mother why? I have to lie to finish off my confession to got to school and she has already run out of excuses ( material ) of confessions to tell the FATHER. This is a true story.

And the question is?????????

Personally I feel that confession is crap.

It should be between you and God in prayer. The Catholic religion has used that to get the dirt on the pulic for centuries. AND dirt is power...

Well I see you're continuing to enjoy your Christian bashing. How about some muslim criticism for a change? Any thoughts on the muslims who kidnapped and horrifically butchered 2 U.S. soldiers? The soldiers were there to try to help other muslims achieve democracy and freedom.Any comments on the muslims who came to the U.S., hijacked planes, and horrically slaughtered thousands of American citizens or the muslims who killed innocent British citizens in the bus bombings, or the muslims who caused millions of dollars worth of damage in France when they went on a rampage lasting for several days, etc. Where is your moral outrage? And for you're information, I am neither Christian nor Jew. Who cares that a little kid made up a story to tell her priest at confession? Young children often have vivid imaginations and make up stories. It is no reflection at all on the religion or their religious traditions, customs, laws nor are the actions of fanatic muslims an indictment against Islam.

There is no need to confess always! Just tell the father today I haven't committed a sin purposefully or intentionally.
