Then the bible... whats the difference especailly as in those days they did not understand natural disaster and prob thought CPR was a miracle.

Actually many biographies have been of people who risked death or were klilled ie Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Nelson Mandella, etc...
Those who were executed Like Lady Jane grey etc...
And the Bible does have massive gaps...
Where is Jesus the teen years where his mates were trying anything to get laid... And him being a normal male, what about tossin oph? You know normal life the 'America Pie' years????

Jenmari you can't prove that your bible is the word of god any more then harry potter... just as you say so or the book says so dont make it true...

Biographers of these celebrities you mentioned weren't in danger of being stoned, crucified or imprisoned for their dicipleship of Jesus Christ. Matthew, Mark, Peter, Paul, Steven, James..all of them save for John, who was banished to the Island of Patmos lost their lives because they were "fans" of the Son of God. Nothing was left out of scripture...including the bad behavior of chosen people of God...they would have been conspicuous by their absence and given the false message that these men were perfect. There are many Biblical figures who pleased God and walked with Him...from Enoch forward but if you notice...David, Solomon, Moses and even the 12 disciples were not perfect..there were no bad bits left out...its taken seriously by those because it isn't just "a book"....its The Book. It has been proven accurate through archeaology, the cohesive union through out scripture..from beginning to end (there's a hint) and by prophetic events transpired to the exactness of time. If Elvis's or Jim's fans had risked being burned alive, buried with their familes or thrown to the lions..then then we might not know who they are today. Jesus is the absolute truth...the Way, the Truth and the Life so people were willing and ready to give their lives so that you could now have the same knowledge you scoff at. Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

The Bible's biographies usually focus on the bad stuff when talking about people, and how God used them anyway.
Your question is pretty disjointed and difficult to piece together. Sure some bits of the Bible are written for a culture 6,000 years ago (or 2,000 for the New Testament) and do not apply perfectly to our society but most of your objections are pretty superfical- like those of a person who read a critique of the Bible instead of the actual Bible.

the bible is not just a book with lots of writing in it.
this is the word of God. it is full of answers but you have to have your eyes opened to what you read.
unless you are a practising christian its hard to explain to the people of the 'world' you will always make jokes and diss all that is said. if you really wanted to know you'd go to a church (preferably non denomination) and ask the pastor.
