I agree mostly, but you have some mistakes. We use carbon dating to date fossil, but it is only accurate to about 150,000-200,000 years. To determine the age of the earth we use Potassium dating, potassium has a half life of about 1.5 billion years and the radioactive portion of potassium remaining on the planet is at about 12%, which makes the earth roughly 4.5 billion years old. There are bad people in every group, religion, politics, and people kill for their beliefs. I do not disagree with people believing in a God, I personally do not, but some peopel need it in their lives. What they need to do is start putting the future of mankind first, you know you have a problem when the majority of Christians on the planet do not care about solving the worlds problems (such as the Middle East issues, global warming, lack of fossil fuels, depletion of ozone layer) because they honestly believe that the end of the world is coming in their lifetime. They think they should spend all their time praying, but if they believe that by being a Christian they will go to heaven, then why all the praying? Why not work towards the betterment of mankind just as a contingency plan? Remember, if you put all your eggs in one basket and that basket breaks, your screwed.

o.k. first I don't know where you got that 5000 number from, but it's irrelevent to me since I don't believe in the Bible. I have studied it in dept though and if you have an open mind I will explain dinosaurs using the Bible.
First you have to understand Gods time is not our time. For example, when Jesus died on the cross he spoke to one of the people being crusified with him and said today you will be with me in paradice. After he died he went into Hell for 3 days. Since both are true according to the Bible when Jesus talked to the man he could not have been using our time.
With that being said God created animals, before he created man. Who is to say he didn't create the dinosaurs then. Since the 7 days is in Gods time it could have been millions of our years per day.
Now as for science being proven, you must not know science well. I'll explain.
Most science is therories not facts.
A therory is a belief again, not provable fact.
As for believing in a God is easy there is too much proof to deny the exsistance of supior being.
I will give you a taste of real proof. In ancient times before man had transportation or any other technology that we treasure today there were Mythological Gods throughout the world. Now here is the tricky part. At roughly the same time throughout the world people drew or wrote about these Gods and guess what.
They were all the same with different names.
I know what you are going to say greeks and Romans traded so that is possible; but what if I told you I'm not talking about exact simularities between those 2, but instead. Egypt, Greek/Roman, and ancient Indian (from the Americas) Gods and Goddeses. How could the ancient Indians and the Greeks have the same Gods back then?
This is only a small bit of the proof I have found while studying all religions.

Carbon dating is fairly reliable, as far as testing ages go. However, the fact about carbon dating is this: if a sample contains any carbon -14, it's a good indication that it isn't millions of years old. I'll explain:
Carbon-14 Dating is used to measure the date of things that were once living. This is done by measuring the amount of C14 in the sample compared to a constant.
When an animal is alive, there is a constant exchange of C14 and CO2 (with C12). However, when an animal dies, the exchange stops, and the amount of C14 in an animal starts to decay. Thus, if we can find out the rate at which C14 decays, we can find out how old something is.
The rate at which an element decays is measured in half-lives. C14's half life is about 5730 years, give or take a few. Thus, two half lives would be 11460 years. If we continue, there should be no more detectable C14 left in a sample after about 50000 years. This makes a date of over such as impossible.
However, as with everything in nature, there are variants and inconsistencies which must be dealt with. First of all, plants are "picky", and discrimiinate against C14, which makes the C14/C12 ratio different, and giving plants an older age than what they really are. Also, the amount of C14/C12 has not always been the same throughout history. There was less C14 in the atmosphere during the industrial era due to the burning of fossil fuels, and there was an increase in C14 after the advent of nuclear testing. But we need to find out how to "calibrate" the "carbon clock", by testing objects with known ages to assign a ratio to that time period. Calibration of this clock is impossible outside recorded history. The amount of cosmic rays getting through the atmosphere also affects the ratio, and because the earth's magnetic field (the shield against cosmic rays) has been deteriorating, there is more C14 now than in the past. The Genesis flood buried a lot of C12, while there was still C14 being produced. The flood would have also produced a lot of volcanism, and volcanoes produce a lot of CO2 depleted in C14, giving older ages than the true ages. This would have screwed up the C14/C12 ratio pretty badly as well. Because of all these conditions, we would have to compensate for the old ages given during the flood era.

God is a figure to guide us and for us to count on. No living person has seen GOD (if GOD is a person).
Religion is something to guide one's life. God is figure for people to take as a role model. Nobody can be god and our ancestors have told stories about gods as a guide for our lives (no matter which religion we are).
God is in ourselves, god is not a person you can meet. God is the energy around us. We should not scoff religion without truly understanding the meaning of religion.
Nobody said God has to be a person in a human form. There are illustrasions of god looking like humans, well, that is only an expression. The sun can be god, the moon can be god, the earth can be god, why even the wind can be god. God is the power that allows us to live.
In other ways, god is also our conscience. The god in us tells us what to do, tells us to regret, tells us to do the right thing. As people we know what is wrong and what is right, we just need this extra push in us to do something, and that extra push comes from the god in us not some other person.
But if some people are doing the wrong things then, maybe they didn't get to know the true meaning of religion. Maybe the god in them is affected by upbringing. We should be glad that we know what is right and wrong and we should make sure that the next generations know too.
God can be many things and religion is a culture. Some misuse the name of religion and some don't even understand religion.
I just hope the misuse of religion will not lead to the destruction of religion and culture.

Dragons in the bible are dinosaurs. I remember an artical I read of human footprints being next to dino footprints. They even had a picture were these prints were following along side each other til they faded out but that was many years ago and I don't remember the source. Reminded me of the Flintstones with Fred walking Dino. Still, The prints were real. As far as the Earth is in age, why don't we look at the meaning of age.Age can be from one year to another or it can mean from a year to another year somewere down the road like the age of the dinos was to last for millions of years. According to scientists, homo sapiens have been here for over 100,000 years. You can also look at physical evidance of a boat shaped fossil on Mt Ararat that matches the length and width of Noahs ark just like the bible said. Satalite images have proven this with National Geographic who have a thing against anything Christian. And like the last post, Carbon dating has been proven to be false over a period of time. In the 1900's, a canyon was cut out in Washington state due to volcanic activity that geologists claimed at the time would have been accredited for hundreds of thousands of years of errosion in a space of a decade. One must wonder just how old the Grand Canyon really is going off this.

Would you reeeeally expect the bible to talk about dinosaurs? If it did, why not tell us about science, or how the moon rotates, or possibly resolve the differences between quantum mechanics and general relativity? You wouldn't really expect the bible to be a textbook... I mean, if it had ALL the answers to every question, we wouldn't be able to pick it up, or even be able to read it.
I am a christian, and I believe that we can't just claim everything is in the name of God. You're right, there are people that abuse God's name, but this is only a small proportion of religious people.

About the Bible: it was written by people long ago when
they didn't know anything about things happened before, like
dinosaurs. Most of modern religious people knows about
evolution and accept it, and read the Bible as a source
of moral advices. And there are more religions, with different
gods or goddesses, different important books like Koran or Bhagavad-Gita.
Killing in the name of god is horrible, it's usually done because
of lack of knowledge, fear from something, or leaded by a really
strong and charismatic man.
But the things you mentioned are done (and still happen),
not just in the name of god, but without any religion too.

The earth has already entered a new evolutionary stage where science and religion are seen as originating from one Creator.
"Science and religion are the two levelers of human intelligence. One reveals the laws of the material world, the other the laws of the spiritual one. Now since these laws stem from the same first cause, which is God, they can't contradict each other. If they did, it stands to reason that one would have to be right, and the other wrong, which would be inconsistent with the Divine design. Consequently, the apparent incompatibility that exists between science and religion is simply the result of incomplete views of the world and one-sided positions taken by both parties. This conflict of ideas has often given rise both to unbelief and intolerance."
I believe that both are part of the other. God is the first cause.
Your example of people killing in the name of God, is just that, people using their free will. God never tells people to kill. Killing in the name of God is most disrepectful and shameful excuse. As for institutional religions who play the money angle, that is man's free will. All these things you see people do in the name of God are man's interpretations. Many do follow blindly, but this is not the intention of God, but the intention of man. God has sent the Spirit of Truth to furhehr explain God's Laws, but here in the United States, the truth is obscured by the institutions we have.
"He who has ears to hear, let him hear." The truth of a logical God with actions steeped in reason, science and love, is out there for those who seek the truth.

I basically desire to appreciate if the atheist can extremely supply the terrific suited answer as they're so particular that God did no longer create existence? - i will instruct that the biblical version is a fantasy. All of genesis replaced into plagiarized from the Sumerian pills having no longer something to do with deities so "god coming up existence" is a fantasy. - As to proving the place existence got here from, we settle for a organic technique considering the fact that that has info. A deity magically forming existence is a fantasy considering the fact which you have yet to instruct a deity exists and that what youi use as a info is a nicely shown fantasy. - There you have extremely info and info and no hypothesis.

The WORD dinosaur no but the description of animals like dinosaurs yes. The word dinosaur come out in 1800 and something but the bible was translated into English in 1611.. Jesus taught to love your enemy and do good to those that persecute you. To hurt some one in the name of God is not the God I serve. They are serving an evil god. The God I serve is Jesus. The bible is clear on how we should be treating our earth as well. And what people are doing today is contrary to that.
