A muslim friend tells me that very soon the whole world will be muslim. He says that the islamic flag will fly over the white house, knesset, 10 downing street and over parliament house in canberra. I in turn told him that the way muslims are blowing each other up that very soon there wont be any muslims left on earth let alone to take over the world. Am i right?
( yesterday a suicide bomber blew himself up with 70 of his fellow muslim mates)

Considering that they’ve been killing each other in the same war for hundreds of years now, I don’t see where they will wipe themselves out anytime soon. However their third world religion will oppress them enough that they will NEVER be able to conquer a technological super power like the US or the UK. I truly believe that if there is ever a wide scale Moslem attack or a series of smaller attacks like 9/11, the order will be given to crack open the nukes much like what happened in Japan.

no - the whole world will never become Muslim. Just like every other religion throughout history - Islam has been hijacked by extremists - and they are dragging the whole religion down because what the world does not see is a strong, united stand by Islam's leaders against victory by terrorism. the excuse is, Islam has no real leaders - just imams - teachers.
anyway - they will not blow each other up - that's not their goal amongst themselves - and there are far too many of them for that to matter anyway.
There are big fireworks coming from their camp - make no mistake - but as long as there are apostles and disciples and children of the Truth - strong in their Faith - then the radicalism they are trying to spread will whither and die.
And as an American, i can say a lot of things that are sketchy about this country - but there is no way in hell an islamic flag would ever fly over 1600 Pennsylvania Ave - and if it did it would be by supernatural force, and regular Americans wouldn't stand for it and would give their lives to tear it down, as would the Australians and English should that sort of nonsense ever try to take a tango on the dance floor there.

Islam is no more likely to "rule the world" than Christianity is, or Hitler or Stalin were.

Whether the force and the principles behind it (or the principles the force hides behind) is benevolent or malevolent, the World has, over 8000 years, demonstrated an unwillingness to be united under any one leader or belief or philosophy.

The fractiousness that results in discord and wars is also the human race's greatest asset; individuality is a necessary component of creativity, and the struggle to improve society.

I think Orson Welles's brilliant speech (which he wrote) from the great 1949 film thriller, THE THIRD MAN, sums up the matter:

"...In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love -- they had 500 years of democracy and peace -- and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

No society can advance, or even long survive, without its rebels and visionaries. Homogenize the world's peoples under a single system and you have, by definition, TOTALitarianism, which will crush all individuality. But human nature doesn't change, and the rebels will always find a way to sprout through the dead soil, like tiny saplings after a forest fire.

Firstly, Muslims are not terrorists, they are generally peaceful people and their dogma teaches them to respect other religions. For this reason Islam can never rule the world. FYI, last century the US government blew up two Japanese cities with nuclear bombs (greatest terrorist attacks in history?), so a suicide bomber is a brainwashed individual, not a real Muslim. But Islam is growing and there's nothing wrong with that, let people follow the religion they want.

No, it's not likely.... Remember, Islam ruled much of the known western world for 700 years (800-1500). Muslim armies reached the outskirts of Paris, and were only thrown out of Spain in 1492, (as Columbus was "sailing the ocean blue").

I've met Libyans who think that Islam STILL IS ruling in Spain - and believe they control the gateway through the Med Sea! (Such is the lack of edukashun.)

I'm afraid that states adopting strict Muslim laws are only setting back their development. In many cases, their economies are only supported by oil demand; their populations are poorly served by these systems.

The perception that "The West" is the root of ALL Middle East / Muslim problems, is only partially true -most are self-inflicted- and the rest of the world actually becoming Muslim would in no way help anyone, (especially women).

So many mistakes...
Firstly, Muslims aren't one group. Their are Shia, Sunni and Shiites, like Christians have Protestants, Catholics etc..Their views are all incredibly different and therefore not one 'cohesive' body.
Secondly, Muslims have never planned to 'take over the world', thats just a stupid idea. Islam is a religion of peace, dispite what the radical Terrorists think.
Lastly, Their not all 'mates'. Brits, Americans, French, Germans etc are all Christian Caucasians eyt we fought world wars against each other, its once again a stupid example

Some may wish that to be the case, but it will not happen. There are too many free thinkers in the world to all agree that Islam is the true religion. I know that I for one will not become a Muslim. I do not condemn the Islamic religion, but it just doesn't happen to be the religion for me. I also know that I'm not alone.

Hmm... I vision that atheism will have taken hold in about 50 years. The entire Middle East is pissing people off and it is onyl a matter of time before Iran decides to nuke Isreal. Once that happens, there are nukes heading to blanket the entire Middle East from the US, Britain, China and Russia. Poof! No more Islam. Christians now are deciding that their religion in kind of dumb, and more and mroe people are turning to agnosticism or atheism, which is where it has to be if humanity as a race wants any hope of surviving another 1000 years.

Islam will never rule the world, It is in fact deteriorating. Who wants to be under such oppression. It is a religion born of the lies Satan told Muhammad. Did u know that Islamic terrorists are not extremists but just follow the qur'an to the key? The qur'an encourages muslims to murder people who do not submit to islam. Look it up. It also says Jesus did not die and rise again yet nobody has ever found the tomb and bones of jesus who is has the largest religious following the world over. Muhammad' s tomb is in mecca but jesus has no tomb, He is risen and forever and shall rule.

Not through military intervention, that would cause unnecessary suffering. What your friend means is, there is a growing number of converts in the West by the day, from all walks of life. It is a promise from God given to Muslims.

[15] As for them, they are but plotting a scheme,
[16] And I am planning a scheme.
[17] Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: give respite to them gently (for a while). The Noble Quran, Chapter 86.

Verily, ALLAH is the best of planners.
