Yes ~ I think that marijuana should be legal. My thought behind this is... people are going to do it anyway, law officials have bigger issues to deal with, smoking it doesn't hurt anyone but the one who chooses to smoke it. OK, people can have all sorts of arguments against this but here is where I stand on it.. Cigarette companies grow tobacco, make it in to cigars, cigarette smokeless tobacco etc... the US government & state governments tax the hell out of it & make good money doing so. People die everyday from lung cancer. Nobody is stopping tobbaco sales. Secondly alcohol & beer companies do the samething with beer wine etc...but people die everyday in dunk driving accidents & again no one is stopping the sales of alcohol. So I say have marijuana companies that are regulated by the government package them as marijuana cigarettes, tax the hell out of them & leave it at that.

When I am really really stoned it makes me think of how fudged up the government is and really makes me want to do something about it. Since I started smoking Ive became involved in many protests including gay marriage and the war in iraq. The government is afraid of how openminded people get when they smoke. So Yes I think it should be legalized. And put an age limit on it. Not that it would stop anything but hell if it makes the gov. feel better than w./e

your statements are mostly true.i drink but would rather smoke.how many stoners get violent.also the only driving i used to do was to get munchies and go back home.untold billions are spent fighting the "war" against marijuana when many more billions could be made from taxing it.also the govt would then know who is buying it just like they know every time alchohol is bought with a credit card or supermarket discount card.and these tax dollars could be used to help treat those with problems, instead of being wasted on a "war" that can't be won....remember prohibition..but as long as there is a kennedy in congress or senate(we all know how they drink)alchohol will be legal and weed won't

Yes it should be legal. Who is the government to tell me I cant smoke some weed? It's MY body. You've never seen a group of people smoke some weed and wanna fight everyone in sight, But it happens all he time with drunk people. NO hangovers. It does cause a lack of motivation but that's my problem not the Government's.

that is such crap...people are NOT going to do it anyway, what kind of an attitude is that?
The fact that it IS illegal keeps many, many people (including myself) away from that stuff. If it was allowed, our kids will do it all the time and not even think about how bad it is for them. It IS addictive. Alcohol is just as bad...yeah...let`s legalize another mind-clouding drug! Great Idea, children...smoke up!

Nope. I don't want our ER rooms to be closed any faster than they already are. There's been at least 2 ER's that have closed in the past year where I live. Just imagine what would happen if the drug was legalized.

No because if you gie an inch it opens the floodgates for other drugs that are deemed low risk to be legalised.

Yes. Why waste millions of dollars on a unsuccessful campaign to stop it. Legalize it and tax it.
