the same reason you would take your baby away from other people. they are her children, and she wants to be sure they are protected and safe.

omg i'm going through that right now too. well when a cat becomes a mother she constantly wants to keep her babies on watch so she keeps trying to switch the location of her kittens. She might even think that they're still young enough to be carried by the mouth. and like the other guy said, she probably doesnt trust you. so just let her get used to the fact that they're older now, and i'm sure this habbit should stop. But to get to the point, she just wants to be close to her babies that's all.

the cat can smell you on her kittens and sometimes cats don't like this & will take their kittens away & leave them to die. This is very sad, but true. You need to keep an eye on all of the kittens and make sure they are all being fed & taken care of. If the mother is still feeding them try not to touvh them until they are at least 6 weeks old and weaning.

She's just trying to be a good mother. Cats will frequently move their babies to keep them safe from predators. If the kittens cry a lot when they're with you or if the mother doesn't trust you, then should is probably trying to move them somewhere that she thinks is safer.

no a cat carries her cubs until they are two montes old sometimes.
she probably trying to protect them, but if your gonna find a home once they will grow up you need to get them used to human touch.

try giving her can cat food and cat treats when your holding her kittens make sure she sees them the all time she will get used to it.

also don't forget to spay her in a month or two, her chances of getting cancer and uterus infections are higher with each pregnancy and heat time.

Unfortunately, it sounds like she doesn't trust you guys. My cat had kittens and she was letting me hold them right away. She was ok with my roomies holding them as long as I was in the room with them. I'm not sure what you can do to change that.

She's hiding them from their father. I'll be she takes the male first too, to the new place. It's her way of protecting her babies. Isn't that special?

4 weeks is too young to be away from momma and she wants them safe. For some reason where you have them makes her nervous.

I think that she does not think that you can look after them as well as she can! Poor lass. Sometimes our pets do really funny thing like this, she is obviously a very good Mum!
