Video games are no more a sin than soccer. Back when the sport was invented, a severed head was used as the game ball. So playing soccer is murderous at heart if you look at it that way, even if you're not playing with someone's head now.
Granted that was a little obscure but I'm sure if you look you could find plenty of other contact sports to use as an example there. Possibly even something different altogether.
My point is if you look hard enough every single action you take is a sin. I personally don't believe in sin, but if you must, consider this: if in fact sin is so inevatable, focus on the bigger sins. Maybe killing a computer-generated figure could be sinful, but comparitively you aren't killing a real person, so no harm done.

Hell no! I've spent a lot of time playing video games some could consider violent, and I do not have the urge to shoot random people in the street. These games are a good outlet for anger. It's when you spend way too much time in front of the screen that it becomes a problem. Just ignore these idiots that consider video games evil or a waste of time- it's about what you want to do, and if it isn't hurting anybody, then go for it!

Yes, but so are a lot of things. Even if you play Tetris God would want you to do something more productive with your time. But What? That is the question. I play Grand Theft Auto San Andreas from time to time, and I sit back occasionally and think "Damn, WTF is the game about anyways? Killing Random people for some money so I can get my character new clothes, more property, better weapons etc..." The disturbing thing is, is that people like guns. If anybody pisses you off you can blast them away and then they can't bother you anymore, but I know we aren't supposed to even think that by spiritual law. Yes a lot of video games are role playing sins, but then is it healthy to supress all these urges, or is it better to play these wicked fantasies out in a video game and then drop it? Why don't you guide me?

How can shooting at computer generated AI characters possibly be murder? Did Maxis finally manage to get the Sims to have souls? (so now they won't be so DUMB, lol). The point is, they aren't real, they don't have souls, and so it really doesn't matter. I think I would concern myself more about killing an ant than some punk in GTA or whatever.

Yes, in Leviticus 12:40 it says, "And unto he that plays Metal Gear Solid, is an abomination. Whosoever takes part in Final Fantasy, other than 7, is an abomination.

No but think about this....if you WASTE all of your time in front of a screen...playing games....aren't you neglecting SEVERAL things that you should be doing?

Many people have been addicted to Final Fantasy and Halo to the point where they've been late to work and some have been fired,,,THIS is the point where gaming has gone too far...

Well masturbation is a sin because we try out of lust to depict sinful sex images in are head to stimulate sinful pleasure, and is know to be idolatrous(becuase you put things,as such,a sinful one too before God,even if you are very spirited, and have commited to God,and his Son,and have his spirit in your heart, and is a violation of the 2nd commandment,so the point is video games can be the same, just as you lust likewise in masturbation, then put vid games in it's place, and you will se what i mean!
