There is a link to a small degree. And you might be surprised how much even a 5 month old can understand of the words you say. Learn some simple sign language - the word "hungry" for example and start making that sign when you ask if the child is hungry. Many infants learn to sign before they can control their tongue enough to speak. There have been good results in getting the infant to tell the parent exactly why they are crying. Hungry, dirty diaper, etc. It also relieves the child's frustration at not being able to tell you why they are upset.
I think you will have more luck with communicating with your child that way rather than ESP.

Your baby is always listening to what you say from the moment he or she develops hearing in your womb. LOL A 5 month old is also very close to its Mom. It can tell how you are feeling by your heart rate. The baby will cry if you are tense, stressed, or even feeling worried. When you are happy, your baby feels the same way you do. There is always a mind/body connection with a child even before birth. The baby's response to something they like may be a kick. Hope that helps and Congrats on the new baby!

Babies have no other way of comunicating so they r very good at understanding u in other ways. Maybe telepathic, but not proven, but more than likely you r giving off some type of body language (maybe not realized by you) that the child picks up on. I thought the same thing with my two babies.

If you take your time and talk to the baby from birth about anything, they will understand but not tell you. Babies are not given credit for what they can do. That is good. A baby should be let be a baby as children should be allowed to be children. Do not rush, just enjoy.
