I have been for years throwing away garabage at the local parks dumpsters. at least 15 other family's do. I have even had cops stop and help me unload my car. Tonight a new cop stoped me and said I had to remove it and take it back home and pay my bill.. I told him I pay my 70 a month.. I rent larger can's because of the size of my family but unless I was a dumpster in my front yard from now on at $250 a month, I'm at a loss.. I thought I had the right to use the ones at the parks Coumminity Building and maybe city hall , my taxes do pay for them and the night before pick up day if they arn't full why cant I fill them and they get picked up at 6 am the next day.. wheres the wrong being done

Check with your local community/county. Most often they have an alternative for households that produce more trash than can fit in the standard containers that their hauling service provides. In some cases you may be required to pay more.

Just so you know, for the most part, most solid waste agencies are not funded through the tax base like other government services. Due to their nature, they often run a landfill or a transfer station that charges a Tip Fee (Service fee for using the facility). In your case, the $70.00/month you pay, probably only covers the cost of servicing your house & the tip fees associated with the trash you are producing. The Parks Department and the City Facilities Department are most likely paying that same tip fee out of their budgets (which are supported by your homeowner's taxes) for servicing the public spaces. While indirectly you are supporting them, it usually is considered illegal dumping when household trash is dumped in a public space container.

Think about it this way, if the Parks Department has to pay more to the Solid Waste Facility, they will have to pull the money from somewhere. That means they will need to cancel other services they provide or ask the Mayor/Council for more money (thus causing your taxes to go up). Solid Waste is one of the most misunderstood parts of municipal services.

You may have alternatives that you can use. I would suggest giving your solid waste department a phone call. Oftentimes they have a facility that homeowners can use for low or no additional cost (again this is funded/offset through your already paid monthly fee). However, be aware, that all facilities have ongoing operational costs so don't be surprised if you have to pay a tip fee. Normally most households fall at the minimum costs which is typically between $1-$4. So it shouldn't be that much.

I hope this helps!

I don't agree with you.
If everyone had your way of thinking, order and cleanliness would no longer be a good reason to live in America. Why don't you and your family recycle. Most products are in containers that can be re-cycled. If your family saved aluminum cans, plastic bottles, and recycled them, instead of using the energy to sneak it to the dumpster, you would be teaching them many good things to help follow laws that help with the environment.

It sounds to me like you are lazy, inconsiderate, and wasteful. If you stop to think about being a good role model for your children, you will follow the laws put in place for everyone.

America is getting more and more littered everyday. This is a throw away, or replace county now. Try cooking more meals from scratch, and you will have much less waste. Now, how did you like your spanking?

I don't see any harm in it. Just go at a different time so you don't run into that particular cop. Say, where are there cops helping citizens unload their garbage? No Country I've ever heard of lol

It is illegal dumping. If you are using the park any litter you produce while being in the park, using public property, gives you the right to use the public trash.

You have been getting a freebie for all these years.

Just because you pay taxes does not mean you can go and sleep in the Whitehouse.
