I believe that God judges each person's situation individually. I know people who had amazing reasons to get abortions, and I don't believe God will punish them for that.

You have asked a question that could easily start a war. I am a Christian and I do not oppose it, but I am not saying it is for me. I am sure there are many Christians who will "judge" me for my answer...but see that is the problem. Christians are not suppose to judge ...just as I have a hard time with religion. Many people choose their religion or their church, I just choose God. And I know I am going to hear "thou shall not kill" but I am not sure when the soul enters the body. Is it when the sperm meets the egg, or is it when the baby takes in it's first breath, or is it somewhere in between? Every Christian seems to pick and choose their own beliefs...every one of them has to do this, or otherwise we would all be perfect and without questions, as God is. It is impossible for anyone to interperet the Bible to perfection and to live it to perfection without sin. I would never judge someone for an abortion, so I believe it is their personal choice.

And saying if someone is raped or to young is the only time it is ok does not make since to me, because it does not make the pregnancy less important than the next.

If Christians believe that if the mother's life is at risk, then abortion is fine...then that leads me to believe that is a choice of belief because then we could debate on what gives them the right to decide who's life is more important?

And what about birth control, as many of them keep the fertilized egg from attaching to the wall of the uterus? The fertilized egg is already in the womb and is being expelled so it will not develop into a human.

I was just going to throw this out there for discussion:

358. Is induced abortion a crime, no matter what stage of gestation it is induced?
"Every transgression of God's laws is a crime. The mother, or anyone else, who takes the life of an unborn child is committing a crime. Why? Because an abortion prevents the soul from undergoing the trial of which the destroyed body was to have been the instrument."

359. In the cases where the birth of the child would endanger the life of the mother, is it a crime to sacrifice the child to save the mother?
"No. It is better to save the mother."

360. Is it rational to treat the fetus with the same respect as the body of a baby that died around the time of birth?
"In the one, as in the other, recognize the will and the handiwork of God. These are always to be respected. One is not less deserving than another. The designs of Providence sometimes are beyond our comprehension."

No I do not oppose abortion...under certain circumstances. If the mother will die if she continues to carry the baby.... it is up to her whether to choose her life or the childs..... if she is raped and cant deal with the idea of raising a child concieved from tragedy, she should give it up for adoption. Stupid and get pregnant young - if your family refuses to help you raise the baby....adoption. If you are 30 years old.... out sleeping with everything that moves and not using protection.... keep the baby and deal with it....it might force you to start making grown up decisions - like birth control.

I am a christian... and I believe that children are a gift from God. If a woman gets pregnant, and is not faced with physical danger by carrying the child full-term....she should have it and give it to a family that wants it and is able to care for it - rather than killing it and giving the child no chance at a full and healthy life.
It is only the mother who can really choose what is right for her. No one should stand in judgement, especially if they have never had to deal with unplanned pregnancy before. The God I believe in is a forgiving God, so I think He would understand if a mother decided to abort, as long as she had the right reasons.

i think that a mother has a right to abortion under any circumstances. the baby doesnt know anything yet its not even born. if the mother doesnt want it then she should be able to get rid of it. its a personal choice and governments and religions should not get involved. having an extra person to care for can be disasterous for some people. what if someone gets raped and has no access to any kind of day after pill or anything or their christian pharmacist wont let them have one? this person is poor and young and cannot feed or support their child. in this case the child may have been better off dead. and the child has ruined the mother. but even if someone is rich and has access to everything they should still be able to have an abortion.

yes, even though I'm not your typical Christian (actually I am all religions). I can say without a shadow of a doubt and with no remorce I am pro choice.

I am pro choice due to what I have seen in my life. I'll tell you of 1 of the tragedies I have seen out of the many that has to do with this subject.

A friend of mine was out on a date with her long time boyfriend and one thing led to another. She didn't mean for it to happen, but it did. She was 15 years old at the time. Anyways she got pregnant.

She told her parents and they kicked her out of the house. She tried to get into group homes and programs to help her, but the waiting list even for someone living on the street was over 2 years. Nobody would take her in. I lived 1 hour away from her and there are no jobs in the area I live at. My parents could not support her, so we couldn't take her in either. Pretty much she had no place to go. Especially since she was brought up thinking abortion is a one way ticket to Hell.

Anyways myself being such a good person as I have always been asked my job for more hours and I quit the wrestling team (I was expected to go to state that year. She quit school and ended up getting a full time job and kept her part time job even though she was pregnant. After about a few weeks she got into a horrible apartment, but at least now she could take care of herself (with my help and the help of one of her local churches). She gave birth to twins.

Luckuly for her she got into programs early they said 2 years, but it ended up being just over a year. Today she is happily married with 4 kids, but I would not wish what she went through on anybody.

I know pro lifers will say she could have said no, but as some people know sometimes things just happen and kids make mistakes.

Now the prolifers will say what mistake did the unborn child make to deserve death.

I say this in the first trimester and even part of the second it is not a child, but a seed starting to grow. I could go further into this, but it might get to deep for you to understand. O.k. I will go just a tad into it.

At what point do you concider it to be a child? If you think that it's when the sperm gets to the egg why don't you go further back.

I mean if you think about it every time a woman has her period she is having an abortion. All they are is unfertalized fetuses. The egg does develope inside the woman even without sperm. It starts off as an egg and ends with well you know.

If you look at some unfertalized eggs in the animal world you can see form in some of them. I'm pretty sure it's the same with humans. So again I ask

At what point do you concider it a life?

See this is the problem. Abortion is not a religious matter. Nor Should it be a legal matter. It is a matter of a persons right as a person to choice what they want to do, as long as it does not break the natural laws of man. That means as long as it does not hurt another person. We are so caught up in what books tell us, that we have forgotten that we are in charge of our own lives and should live them by our moral beliefs based on good judgment and not what other people say should be our judgment.

I certainly do not like it, but I can not nor will not approve a law to criminalize it. I am a Christian. We need to allow God to judge any woman or couple who choose such a route. We need to educate these people and allow them to make an educated well thought out decision. It's fine to try and steer them towards other alternatives. Anyone who works to criminalize abortion should rethink their Christianity.

Psalm 139:15 "My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being imperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there were none of them."

This clearly tells us that God knows us as persons whilst we are still being formed in our mothers womb. These are little human beings, and that means babies. Abortion is Scripturally wrong, it is no less than murder of an infant.
How could any true Bible believing Christian say that it is OK to kill a baby after knowing the Scriptures? If they say it is OK then they are NOT Christians.

How could you claim to be Christian and in favor of murdering babies.. Post rape, a woman gets a D&C, and that cleans out the entire uterus.. Rape is not an excuse for murder, if you wait till after the rape, you are without excuse.. Murdering babies is not a privacy matter-- otherwise that skank from Houston who drowned her babies should go free, after all she just waited 8 years after conception! Try a little personal responsiblity for you own sinful behiavior, better yet repent, and go do the right thing..the nation that embraces such horrible sins, folds up and colapses under the wieght of its own sins.. It does not affect just the skank that kills the baby, it effects us all, and is a cancer to the entire nation..
