I'm very neutral when it comes to religion... basically, I don't believe that just one religion can be right and all other religions are wrong. However, I believe in the idea of God (I think of it more as a supreme source or being)... is this normal?

I've heard this a lot. Of course you can believe in **A** god without belonging to a particular religion, but you can't believe in God without belonging to a religion. You'd be surprised at how many religions acknowledge that other religions can be true as well. Christianity, for instance, recognizes that the faith of a small tribe in Thailand (its name is escaping me right now) as being right, even though these people do not believe the same things a Christian does. Weird, isn't it? Do a little research, trust me; you'll be amazed.

Romans 10:13-15 NIV
13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Many thinks that they can just believe without a religion. It is actually easier to do that, but God wants us to enter the narrow gate.

Matthew 7:13 NIV
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it."

Some thinks that believing is enough. They think they do not need to do anymore work. That is not God's will.

James 2:17 NIV
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

If you want salvation, you need to be baptized into the true religion.

Mark 16:16 NIV
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Well, if you just want to believe there is a presence of a creator and no need to know any facts about God, then religion is not needed. But, when you seek God, wants to know more about God, His relation with His creatures, specially Human, His love and other attributes, you will be forced to accept a religion. Since religion is the source that teaches you who is your creator God and modern science tells you nothing about God. When you start studying about God Alimighty, you will learn that the Creator of all this universe is One and only God. Call Him in the best names you like, but He is one and having no partners. Jesus is His servent as Abraham, Moses and Mohammad are. True religion before God is submitting to His will, the natural religion of man. If you study honestly religions your final reaching would be to Islam wich mean, peace and sumitting to the will of only One God-the creator is everthing.

That's exactly the way I picture God...A Supreme Force.

I don't think it really matters Which Religion one believes in! We all live under the same rules of this Universal Life Source!

I once hear a preacher say that organized religion is a poor excuse for worship God deserves. The bible tells us that there are diversities in religion, so your right, one religion may be right but that don't mean the next one is not just a right. You need to read, study and decide for your self. Christ said where two are gathered in My name there I'll be.. so you can have church in your home. God is real,Christ is real, the way we worship him is between us and God..

my dear this is very important that we understand religions are not base but the religions are for help of our in the way of god and we must know that god and human and the relation of between them are most important and the religions are only devices and religions as Islam ,christian,Jewish, Zoroaster, and other 124000 prophets of god (that we don't know the name of theme)are right but each religion is after another thus is more complete than others and Islam is last religion and before of Islam is christian and so on ...in Islam religion we believe all of religions and this is a command from the god (Allah)

I think it was said best that religion is man trying to reach God-Salvation is God reaching man. The religion u follow is not going to get u to heaven(Even if ur a baptist and I was raised Baptist). Nor does simply believing that God exists going to get u to Heaven. Even the devil believes that God exists. It is when you place your complete trust in the shed blood of Jesus as THE ONLY WAY to get to heaven. John 14:6 "Jesus sayeth unto him, I AM The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man cometh unto the Father but BY ME." (Emphasis added) Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith, that of not of yourselves it is the gift of God, Not of works lest any man should boast." And contrary to what a previous reply to your question stated, No James does not teach that you have to back up your faith with actions to be saved. If they had read the Book of James carefully instead of just grabbing a verse or two to back up their argument they would have seen that James continually addresses his book to "BRETHREN" meaning those who are already saved. He is refering to serving God after you are already saved. When you go to interpit a verse in scripture always look at the intended audience whether saved or unsaved and always interpit scripture with scripture. If u have any questions please feel free to email me and ask them. I would suggest that you get a Bible and read the gospel of John. I would suggest that you get a King James version bible as that is the most accurate. It is not perfect but no translation is. I will be praying for you that God will help you to resolve this issue in your mind.

Yes. Christianity is a relationship NOT a religion. There is no right or wrong BUT there is only one way to heaven.

Yes. God is the Supreme Intelligence, First Cause, etc. If that is your belief, and you strive to do good, there is nothing wrong. God loves all.

Yes you can believe in GOD without a religion.
I think it is up to you to research and explore all
And then way up the balance and take in what you think is your own truth
And disregard all that does not settle well, with your thoughts and feelings.

Love & Blessings
