What type of business? I would say first you need to know what kind of business you are interested in . For instance if you want a clothing business, than you might want to get a B.A in design, regarding creating a business you don't need to have a degree. My 12 year old just incorporated and started her own business. She bought books on incorporation. Researched what State and Federal Papers would need to be filed and then she did a business plan for what her start up costs would be and how long it would take to recoup her initial investment. She is even planning on filming a 8 to 10 minute DVD, to inform people about her company. So as you see she doesn't have a degree. If you want to have a business that will prosper in the new global market, you could think about a degree in communication, marketing or international studies, study a lanuage and be open to change as business is changing. I think you should start reading Forbes, and the Wall Street Journal, look into what is your passion in life and build upon that so that your business is one that you enjoy and will enjoy putting time into for then the success is more likely. If you get a degree in something you love and want an MBA after that then go for it. I will say this, I have ran my own business for 30 years and I don't have a degree, it never hindered me in any way from moving forward and going globally. However, I personally have always wished I would have gotten a degree. Friends of mine who are professors have told me that I could get a degree very easily because of my life experience, for some reason I have always felt that was cheating. So if I want it I feel it's never too late. If you even begin a business before applying for college it is more likely you will be admitted to the college of your choice for your independent thinking and what you have created beyond the normal structure of academics. They look at the whole person not just your grades or how you test these days. Take a chance and be creative now!

First of all a degree has nothing to do with business. You need to figure out what business you want to start. Research and form a plan. It also helps to work in the industry for a while to get different ideas and the problems you might be facing. Real life experience will beat a college degree any day.

Nope I own a company and under no circumstances went to varsity. i myself imagine college is a huge waste of money when I can use all that money to make investments. yet some human beings do want college relying on their career decision and what no longer, im merely an entrepreneur. the superb element i'd do is take non credit baking and small company instructions at your close by community faculties. Its only a set a instructions that's many times no extra then a month and extremely less costly thanks to varsity. Prob would in person-friendly words reason a pair 100 or so. That way you could information your self because you under no circumstances own a company or something earlier im guessing
