I think you should give the Catholic faith a try. Try to look past the scandals that the media tries to blow out of proportion. The media has an anti-Catholic agenda, so they are very biased against the Church.
They repeat the same stories over and over again and leave the same story there on the Internet news website for a very long time if it is anything negative about the Catholic Church. But any positive news about the Church or that is about a Catholic being victimized gets a very short story if any and then gets immediately removed. An example was when a couple was denied adoption of a child because they were Catholic. This was a news story on Yahoo news for a short time, then they removed it. Now it's a dead link. Same with a news story about the Church helping out some homeless people. It's now a dead link. But the scandal stories will always be saved by the media for reuse.
It's really not that many priests if you actually look at the statistics beyond the media hype.
Besides, scandal or not, if you are looking for the fullness of truth about God and specifically about Christianity, the Catholic Church is where to find it. Christians shouldn't reject Peter because of Judas Iscariot because there will always be Judas' in the Church.

First of all, you cannot be a religion.
But, if you are looking for a religion to embrace give Islam a chance by studying it. There is no force since it must be coming from your heart and willingness.
I know that Islam has taken a big beat due to some twisted individuals/groups who killed innocents in the name of Islam - shame on them, but you will find a beauty from its true teaching.
But whatever it's that you choose, good luck! I still believe all religions teach about good things...

Is it vitally important at this point. People pick religions which agree with their ideas of what a religion should provide. They find a religion they are comfortable with. That is grossly ironic. Should the subject choose the religion or the religion choose the subject?

Well well well........... I tell you people what! It's an absolute miracle that the Bible exists. It was formed from scripts and books that were written by people that experiened first hand the awsome power, mercy, grace, and Love of God himself. Somehow through the ages these writings mysteriously came together to form the all time best selling book. Coincidense? Hardly!! Please read it! Listen to sermons preached from it. This is stories written ages ago by people who wanted YOU to read them and know. It was very important to them! Some of the stories were written hundreds of years apart from one another. Yet found each other... Explain that one!! All of us are God's Children, whether we believe it or not.

choose a religion that believes in love for your fellow human beings,and doesn't preach only one way of thinking. Try Buddhism they believe that you mustn't ever harm another animal or human being, and they believe in karma which is a good way to live and think about your life. Good luck.

Try this....
Do something called "Independent Investigation of Truth." Do your homework, read the holy books, and pray for guidance. Search independently, don't let any clergy member talk you into this or that, you have a highly-developed brain and are capable of doing this without clergy.
