Every now and then while watching the news I get irritated at the fundamental hypocrisy of some pinheads roaming the streets of this country. Today my question is about gays getting married. To hopefully stave off idiotic questions; no, I’m not gay; yes I’m married to a woman; no, I have never been divorced and yes I am a Christian. That being said, here is my question. Does the bible not say in Matthew 5:32 “… whoever divorces his wife causes her to commit adultery and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery”? I find it odd that the same people that state that homosexuality is a sin are the same people who have been divorced, remarried, cheating on their spouses and everything in between. The bible is clear that divorce is a sin, why aren’t they trying to amend the constitution to ban divorce; there is no ambiguity about it in the bible? I would love for any divorced person that is against gays getting married to explain to me why they are safe from hell and gays are not.

And please don’t say that you are forgiven for your divorce and that gays are not because they continue that lifestyle. The last time I checked after you get a divorce, you would remain divorced, or remarried, or whatever; but each day you stay that way, either divorced or remarried, aren’t you continuing to sin?

It's the cafeteria syndrome -- pick and choose whatever suits one's life. I agree, it's pretty hypocritical and righteous.
Also, I thought God loved all people, even gays. That's what they taught us in Sunday school, anyway.

"The bible is clear that divorce is a sin, why aren’t they trying to amend the constitution "
There is a little thing in The Constitution" called "seperation of church and state"
Why are you so worried about other people and their "sins"? Do you think you are going to get Gay cooties or the divorce trolls will get you?

Why is the govt involved in marriage at all? This is a private contract between a man, a woman, and the holy Lord God. The sin of rebellion against God, whether adultry, homosexuality, fornication, theft, idolatry, murder, blah, blah is sin. Many are capital crimes, per o.t. but we are ordered to let most be handled by God and His judgement.I am not a judge, so it is not my job. It is my job to love the sinner, and it is my job to let the sinner know I hate the sin, for if I didnot then their blood is on my hands. But if I say so and they do not listen, their blood is on thier own hands.

You kind of have a lot jammed into your question. However, I don't know where in the Bible it says anyone who commits any kind of sin is going to hell.
We're all sinners-big and little. Yes, I believe homosexuality is a sin. I also believe divorce is.
However, I don't think people participating in either are going to hell-IF they have accepted Christ and if they acknowledge their sinfulness to G-d.
Yes, G-d loves all of us. He wants us in heaven with Him. That's why He sent Jesus. That's why we're given unlimited chances (until death) to accept His gift.
But, I'm not divorced so I guess I shouldn't have even answered your question. Everything's black and white until it's in your own backyard.

if i were to say either divorce or homosexuality could be a sin, i would have to choose the latter as it's contrary to nature.
that said, nature made male and female for reasons of procreation, which we, as a species, are far too much on top of. sexual pleasure is not just insentive to reproduce, it's a gift and should be enjoyed...responsibly.
marriage is a contract created by the tyranic church. to avoid expulsion from the communtiy, one must depend on the church to receive the pleasure sex provides. it would so follow, divorce is as equally irrelivant to god.

I heard that divorce is not a sin if one person (husband or wife) commits adultry. Then it's okay to remarry. Don't quote me on that! I don't know for sure.

i was married once and he committed adultery in our marriage and so i divorced him. i am remarried now. and he is a good man.
sin is unforgivable when you know it to be one and you are a saved christian and you refuse to ask for forgiveness and chance you your ways.
The government should stay out of our Cristian way, the way there supposed to.( STAY OUT)

No I don't think that divorced people are any better than gays nor is there anyone person better than another. The bible says...."There is no sin difference: for all have sinned...There is none righteous, no not one" (Rom. 3:22 ~ 23,10)Just a little something for YOU to think about.
