If you're going to fall in love, you won't be able to force yourself not to, unless you stop seeing your friend completely, before the relationship goes any further. And NO schizophrenia will not be the result of falling or not falling in love! Schizophrenia is a chronic, severe, & disabling brain disorder that affects about 1 in every 100 people all over the world! A chemical imbalance in the brain is thought to be the cause, but that is not conclusive nor proven. Unless you have a family member who has been diagnoised with this brain disorder, which would put you at a higher risk, you more than likely don't have a thing to worry about!

Agree with Judelite and Z and Glory on this one. Schizophrenia is a genetically inherited disease process which can be more likely if both parents have this Disorder. Likelihood is also further enhanced it is said by use of Marijuana regularly between the ages of 13 and 18 when the brain is still developing. That said, obviously not all MJ smokers are Schiz though correlations exist between mental illness and illicit drug abuse.
I think you have a very sadistic controlling friend?? Love is your personal choice , enjoy your life and what it has to offer whatever your persuasion.

You can only become schizophrenic by having inherited DNA from a family member who had the disease. No amount of forcing yourself to do anything will cause mental illness. You may feel mentally ill because you are allowing a person to control your life, which takes away your healthy self-esteem. That is known as emotional abuse. Know that you are a person who can make your own decisions and be happy with them. If you are having problems with too many people being emotionally abusive, you need to tell a friend or a therapist and let him/her teach you how to be assertive. There is life after "friends" (NOT) who lie to you to try to control you, which is a form of mental illness in them.

Yes,
when you force yourself out of doing or not doing something
against your own instincts, you are already
schizophrenic, i.e) a split personality.
Just you need more courage not to fragment yourself
and mature through the experiences of life good and bad.
You can fall in love or rise in love.
It depends on you and your partner,
nothing generic of love.

Schizophrenia has no correlation to falling in love. Do what you want to do. Love can't be forced. Good luck and have a great day.

Schizophrenia and love are not usually connected. Schizophrenia, from what little I know, is caused by body chemistry abnormalities. If you have a genetic predisposition for schizophrenia, then I would assume that it could be triggered by stress.
