YES! The are great dogs and very smart. At the moment I am training two - a yellow lab - training to the gun and a black lab training as an assistance dog to a young boy with muscular dystrophy. They are both learning very quickly how to do two completely different jobs. And they are very happy because they are greatly stimulated and have to think about what they are doing before they do it!
I love all dogs but labs are one of my favourites.
