through a wedding where a precessional song was sung in German (It's a Lutheran Hymn written by Martin Luther Himself) and the pastor did a small sermon or speech on each of the verses explaning what it means and how it ties into marriage instead of the same old speech pastors usually give at weddings. My mother hates it because hates Lutheran music, so she thinks everyone will hate the idea. Will they?

Not hate it. I don't get to go to nearly enough weddings. Just make sure there is Plenty of food at the reception! People going to be hungry.
Every one will be pretty much ready to get out of there..................ON WITH THE PARTY.!.
I don't understand 'Lutheran Music' same songs are sung in Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal. So sit down with a list of three, four songs that you would like to have, then let Mother pick those that she dislikes least. I think German ould be interesting.

I would never walk out in the middle of a wedding unless I was sick. It would be rude to just up and leave. If you want the hymn at your wedding have it. People sit through 1 1/2 hour catholic weddings all the time.

No offense to you mother, but what she thinks is irrelevant. If the bride and groom are happy, who cares what the other's think.

To answer your question, if I cared enough to come to a wedding, I'd be more than happy to listen to German music as well as an explanation.

I think it's a great idea, but even if I didn't, I would still sit through the ceremony. People don't go to weddings to be entertained, they are there to show their support for the bride and groom. What does your fiance think?

it is not the music that makes the day
it is the FACT that two people are marrying
I have sat through mulsim weddings, greek orthadox ones and not understood a word but the meaning of two people marrying is the KEY FACTOR

Is this your wedding? Do you want it to happen that way? Then thank your mother for her opinion, and go along with your plans.
