I'm extremely shy and all I can do is look at an attractive girl. If she looks at me I'm able to hold the stare for a second or two before looking away. But I cannot get myself to smile, which obviously comes across as weird. What would you recommend I do?
Last week on the train, two days in a row I got on and saw the same girl. I looked at her and we kind of glanced at each other for at least 6 times then stopped. The next day was the same although when I first looked at her I gave her a quick smile but she didn't seem to reciprocate. Admittedly, I probably looked down too quickly and she may have missed the smile.

I can totally understand your problem... somewhat lol I myself am very outgoing, and tend to give advice to my friend who is exactly like you.
Well, I don't mean for this to sound blunt or rude, but suck it up and say somethin' to the girl. If you can't do that, try to take a breath and give her a smile she notices and appreciates. Slowly work up from there, by simply giving her a slight nod, smiling at her more often [[but not too much, you don't want to seem like a stalker lol]], and eventually say "Hey, how're you?" or something of the sort. I can understand how that might be hard for you, but you are eventually going to have to suck it up and take a chance. Girls LOVE guys who are confident in themselves!

Next time you see her, try to say hi or start a conversation. If you're too shy for that, try working on that smile, practice at home, or practice on other people you don't know. Hope that helps. Or drink lots of coffee and then approach her with a smile and conversation, he he...

no big deal. smile means interested n if dnt smile more interested.dnt b shy coz somtimes its dangerous 2 b shy.so b confident if u like sme1 coz may be she 2 likes but afraid 2 say.so u become a bit confident k n go ahead.

Hi she may be looking at you cause she likes you too or she may be self concious because she thinks you are staring at her. Never look at a girl you like without smiling at her otherwise it may seem intimidating or creepy to her. Smiling is almost always appreciated even if she doesnt like you or smile back. Looking without smiling is creepy creepy creepy.

i know what you mean dude, im kinda a shy guy myself. but if you see an attractive girl just give her a smile and make eye contact. she wont be disgusted or anything, its a friendly gesture....go for it.
