Confusing question. Do you mean you drove over a 70 year old? In which case you should report it to the police...!

But if you mean can you drive over 70. Depends on whether you have a valid driving licence. Check the expiry date on your driving licence, if it has expired then contact the DVLA they will advise you what happens.

Why would you want to drive over anybody, regardless of their age? You should be ashamed of yourself! I know that 70 year olds are slower and would be easier to hit than younger pedestrians, but that's no excuse. Besides, if you do drive over one, you're in big trouble with the law.

My dad died two years ago, aged 85. He drove a variety of very sporty cars all his life, and never once had an accident in over 60 years. He flew Lancaster bombers during WW2, and he said if you could do that, you could do anything!!He was a marvellous driver right up to the end; he was also very aware, and had his eyes tested every year, and took advanced driving courses.

People over 70 should have to take a test every year to dtermine if they are fit to drive.

The stupidity and dangerous driving I have seen on the roads
is almost 100% done by yong drivers.

Statistics also shows that this is the case.

Some people are good drivers well into their 80's and longer. Some are not at age 25.

Why pick on older folks? Someday you may reach that age yourself!

Sure. Why not.

Evidence shows that older drivers are not the problem in modern traffic. Little boy racers, who feel that their car is an extension of their sexual organ, and stupid middle-aged drink-drivers cause most of the accidents and damage.

Why not?
Personally I think everybody should have to retake the driving test every year. Why make it about age? Make it about ability!
