the outside ones i make sure i can see a little bit of my car (that way you have a reference and are better able to tell how far away some one is from you) then i adjust then so that i can see the ground just past my bumper (that will give you a reference point at the end of your car to judge distance and still be able to see how fast someone is coming toward you). the inside mirror just adjust it so that everything but but not the car.

You should adjust your mirrors so you can see from your driving position. You want to adjust them to limit the blind spots as much as possible. Mirrors do not cover all the blind spots in a car. You will still need to turn your head and look when you are merging or changing lanes. No offense, but if you have to come on line to ask that question you probably should not be driving.

On the inside mirror you should have a full view of your rear window, not the headliner or back seat. For the side mirrors you need to have a view of the road behind you so that it appears level in the mirror. You should not be able to see more than one inch of your own car in the inside edge of the mirror.

it is quite a query on the attempt to get a license in lots of states. the respond is that it quite is impossible to get rid of the blind spots thoroughly. you are able to cut back their length by employing adjusting the mirrors, yet you are able to't thoroughly get rid of them. There are constantly blind spots, even after adjusting the mirrors. in case you do no longer see a motor vehicle, that doesn't recommend it quite is risk-free, by way of fact there may be a motor vehicle someplace which you would be able to't see, whether the mirrors are adjusted. in case you spot a motor vehicle, that does recommend that that's no longer okay to pass or to get into that motor vehicle's lane (for sure).

you should adjust the side mirrors so you see as little of YOUR car as possible. Always look in that mirror in which direction you are going before switching lanes, backing out of a parking spot and so on, also...never forget...look back over your shoulder before switching lanes (Blind spots)

Ill give you a tip.....when you take your driving test....when you come to a stop sign or red light take a quick glance into you rear view mirror to see if you are about to get rear ended.....the instructor will notice this and it will help to get into a habit of doing this....it saved me once at a major intersection.

You want to be able to see what's around your vehicle. I usually aim them where I can see a bit of the sides of my truck. That gives me a reference for what I am seeing in the mirror.
