Nope. they squat like the females... have you seen them spray?? Its pretty interesting.. i didn't know they can do this... but a male cat is "marking his territory" on my beautiful female calico... its so gross.....

no, if he wants to mark his territory he tilts his bum up & it sprays upwards. If he's in the litter tray or just peeing normally he aims it downwards.
