My son was born 13 weeks premature, was in the hospital for 9 weeks with a blood infection, 4 blood transfusions, open PDA, CMV virus, NEC (necrotizing entocolitis), pneumatosis of the large intestine and hernia. His father wants no papers drawn, wants to pay no child support, but expects me to take him to see him even though he has no rights. Then he tells me I am a mental person, I need to take medicine and I overreact when he doesn't help out financially or even try to come see him.

We have so much animousity between us I'm not sure I feel comfortable with him having rights whatsoever. He already pays child support on a child he never sees that lives 10 minutes away from him. Yet, he calls frequently and puts on quite a show acting like he cares and loves us.

i agree with babydoll. you dont need that negativity in your life right now. your #1 focus is your baby and him getting/staying healthy. babies sense stress in their mommy, so take long hot baths or take the baby for a walk(if he can go out) Put that "man" on the backburner for now. DO NOT give a second thought about what he thinks of you either.
p.s..... if thats your baby, he is such a doll. hes gorgeous, enjoy him, he will be your strength.

Contact your local state Child Support Enforcement Office.
They will help you file a petition with the court so you can
establish paternity legally and ask the court to order him
to pay child support (and his share of medical expenses,
daycare, etc.). It's a long process so I'd get right down there
and do it immediately. The court may take the money
right out of his paycheck which is very convenient, rather
than the father giving you money when he feels like it.
Also contact your local state WIC (Women, Infants & Children)
office as you may qualify to receive infant formula, milk,
orange juice, cereal, cheese & other food as well as nutritional
counseling to help you get off on the right start.

You know these types of problems or situations make me mad. How can he not be there for his baby. It takes two to make a baby not one.. It sounds to me that he is a low life and a deadbeat dad.. Believe me you are better off without him in your baby's life, afterall you dont want a negative or bad influence in his life.
