Religion is a crutch left over from mans pre-scientific youth and, like a child with a security blanket, out continued reliance on it for emotional support is unhealthy and detrimental to our growth!

I disagree religion expands our health and mentality, and it maybe a security blanket to some, but to others it is more of a character builder. And from what i have witnessed is one of the most healthiest things a person can have in their life. Most of the time religion helps us to grow by making us a better person then we were the day before and giving us strength to survive.

Growth into what? A cold heartless world that depends only on logic and science, and doesn't leave room for a childs imagination to think outside of the box, or the freedom to believe in something that makes people happy?

I disagree.

I disagree. I think science and religion are two parts of the explanation of things. Science explains the material world, as well religion explains the spirit world.

You are all getting there, you seek more logical explanations for things, but there is no reason to believe in just one or the other.

AGREE AGREE AGREE!!!!!!!!!!! Religion especially Christianity, has so many flaws and stories that have been proven to never occur. however they are so consumed by it that they can't see!!!!! they(every religious person) needs to break away and follow in perhaps, nature. what really exist. not a "spirit". the world it so tortured, if there were a God, I'm sure it would be peaceful, or is he too busy trying to convert people?!?!!? They need to break from him and seek guidance in friends, family, and most importantly, their selves.

disagree strongly. I am a Christian... However I do not belong to a religion. I believe in the Bible and what it stands for. religions are man made... God made man and I believe in His word only... But if people need the structure of religion then I am all for it.

Whole-heartedly agree, except it's more like a drug addiction. Sure, it feels good and you get to meet some really nice people, but getting off the stuff is very hard to do - especially when you can't see you have a problem!

I agree. I believe there is a God, but I do not believe any of the religions was promoted by God. Imperfect men created all those books and teachings.

We have all chosen our religion. Agnostic, Atheist, our religion is that driving force. So, crutch?- yes, but without it there would be little to no mobility
