The sugar that a papaya has is a natural sugar, totally different than the processed and added sugar in some foods. Papaya has many benefits, and is well worth the small amount of sugar it contains. The natural sugar in the fruit is not bad for you.

The sugar in papaya and all fruits is a mixture of fructose and dextrose.
However, you should not eat carbohydrates by themselves, try having some protein with your papaya. I glass of milk will do.

papaya is good for you and the sugar is naturally occuring. it won't make you fat; fat and being a couch potatoe makes you fat. papaya is loaded with vitamins and nutrients your body needs. eat a rainbow of high fiber fruits, vegies and berries a day for optimum health.

Papaya is rich in VitC and very very good for you
No fruit sugar makes you 'fat'..what makes you fat is processed foods ..keep off Fizzy drinks and drink fresh juices and eat lots of fruits..

sugar from fruit is natural and not refined , so it is better for you than say a cookie or somthing else thats sweet. However everything in moderation.
