first of all you need to be either an atheist or an agnostic....you can't really be both.
can you measure a soul? do you know any of it's attributes?
NO.
maybe fire is the only discription God could give us that we could
understand, it's fire but not what we see as fire.
just because somthing is "associated" with somthing doens't mean that is the only form of it....I think since God made everything he can probably put whatever he wants, wherever he wants, with limits he wouldn't be God.
the main thing that makes Hell so terrible is that (unsaved people) find out how glorious God is, yet they have to always be separated from God.
I know you probably don't care because you are happy living you sinful life without God. you are really missing out, it's good to be saved now! ^_^ and I know it will beeven better when I am with Him.
I will pray for you, I'm sure you are a really nice person.

Energy is physical. Quantum physics teaches us that there is the zero point energy which is the ground state energy and even though this energy cannot do work it still exists and fluctuates.
The soul could be made of pure energy organized in reciprocating ripples and fluctuations and therefore could exist as a physical state.
But Fire would have no effect on it.
The Bible also teaches that hell is at the center of the earth. Given that the earth will not last forever then hell does not exist because the bible also claims that hell is forever.
The Bible is full of lies and contradictions.

Great question! But in Luke it says the man who went to hell was actually still conscious and felt pain. For the sake of consistancy, are you implying that other "physical" things are not suppose to cross over into the next life?
For example, you said pain. The opposite of that is peace, joy, love. All that is belived to be still felt. Why just stop at fire and pain.
" The light of the Lord will be their lamp" doesnt imply light because its physical wont exist!

technically no one is in hell yet. And we do carry a physicacl self with us to heaven or hell. The dead bodies of the earth are eventually taken also. In fact at the time of the rapture the dead bodies are the first to be taken.
Also it is said that the pain of being alone is the worst imaginable. The pain of being alone is sometimes related to that of a burning sensation. So, imagine eternity seperated from God. Wouldn't that be something that could be ultimate torment and sufferering? There's no light in a hell, and it's also logical that communication between you and fellow inmates would not be possible.

Well THEY believe we will have a new body..And yes THEY also believe this is all-right because the bible mentions it briefly. THEY get this ATTITUDE that we'll BE SORRY...I've even been told by a Christian woman/zealot when I called in crying over my sin's more or less to go to hell... Yep they really LOVE don't they The funniest thing is They were there before, but they got saved And all to soon they become hypocrites.. They keep up the crap they do and beg forgiveness time and time again.

How do you know that pain is only associated with the physical? What is the basis for your assumption? Can one feel emotional or mental anguish even though there is nothing physically wrong? Obviously so; it happens all the time.
And why do people ask questions if they are not seriously looking for answers? Does simply asking alot of dumb-@-- rhetorical questions, without stopping to think of what the answer migh be, really make one a critical thinker?

Indeed, you are hitting the contradictions of religion. Why would God, who loves you so very much ever wish to send you to hell? He wouldn't. Why would God give you free agency, and punish you for the 'mistakes' you've made? He doesn't. God's love is the most pure and true love. He's given us freedom, and said he would never revoke it. Then how can he punish us for using it how we choose. Hell is self induced, and I'm not refering to 'sinning' while alive. I mean that you believe that there is such a thing as sinning, and that the life you have led is not deserving of heaven, you force yourself into hell. Not because of God's 'judgement', but because of your own judgement and belief. If true love is giving another the freedom to live how they choose, and God's love is true, there can be no hell as the christians like to portray it. God is all there is, and God is love, and everything else is an illusion.

The word Hell has been mistranslated big time. That's one reason people are so confused. Hell means covered hole or mans common grave. Personally I don't believe our loving creator has a burning Hell in store for all the people who refused to believe in him or accept him. Its much kinder for God to just wipe you out of his memory, than to have one in torment for eternity. Makes no sense how one could believe that a loving God could be so cruel to his own children.

I think it's just a parallel so our minds can comprehend it...the physical feeling of burning is similar to how our souls will "feel" if in hell...
