Global warming demands action now. Scientists are forecasting a warming of between 2 and 11 degrees F over the next century. During the last Ice Age the world averaged only 9 degrees cooler than it is today. We thus face the very real possibility of a swing in global temperatures of Ice-Age magnitude within the lifetimes of our children. It is no exaggeration to say that, unchecked, global warming will cause more human suffering and destroy more natural ecosystems than has any other industrial pollutant in our history.

Climate stabilization will require an extremely rapid transition toward a clean energy future-one based on solar, wind and biomass-generated power, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. It will take a powerful social movement to overcome political and corporate inertia and catalyze the clean energy revolution we need in order to avoid unimaginable change to human and natural systems. We need committed, skilled, persuasive climate communicators and advocates to make that movement a reality.hopr evry1 is aware of this.

We cannot stop Global Warming, just as we did not start it. It is a part of the natural evolution of the planet.

The old adage "Ashes to Ashes" applies here and all we have really accomplished is to increase it's rate of acceleration dramatically.
Inertia will ensure that it maintains the current rate of acceleration, providing we discontinue or efforts aimed at increasing it's rate of acceleration even further.

Compare this to the merry-go-round like devices at many of our community parks. If we keep pushing it, it will continue to go faster and faster.

The difference lies in the friction imposed on the ride which will cause it to slow down and stop once we stop pushing. Alas the bearings will eventually fail and the ride will cease to function.

If we stop pushing the planet it will continue on it present course at it's current rate, but we will at least have stopped apeeding it up.

i heard from a professor that some scientists said we can't stop global warming from happening because of innovations
and that
we can only stop global warming if we stop changing our lifestyle and technology..

maybe what we can do is educate people about global warming
so that maybe there are some bright minds who can discover something to stop it, and in educating them we might also help lessen the treath of it and hopefully it will not happen or will not happen soon

First we have to find out what causes it.. and then try to reduce the causes...

Nature produces massive quantities of some greenhouse gases that we probably will not be able to control their creation.. but maybe we CAN do something about cleaning them up.

all of us non big corporation types, and or those who do not all but worship the almighty god dollar could return to the Ag age, turn in our automobiles, stop using plastics, and all processed consumer goods, recycle, and I fear that at this point in time would not be enough,as it is we have gone past the point of fixing the problem.
I fear it will only get worse, and that is unfortunately reality.
