They say "time is the best medicine". And to a point I will agree.

"Time heals all wounds" is yet another cliche' and some may believe that.

"Revenge is the heal all" is what some think.

"Let by-gones be by-gones" is yet another euphemism for those that can't find a way to mend a broken heart.

But I guess what I most believe in is that "all things happen for a reason"

While broken hearts happen everyday it doesn't take away the pain of loss. There a lesson to be learned.

What DOES happen in the midst of a broken heart is that it causes us to re-evaluate ourselves, the relationship and the purpose of the pain. And to question why we have to hurt in the process.

What we all must realize is that we do not all have the same objective or agenda in a relationship. Some may wish for marriage, some may merely need a companion, while some equate a relationship to pro-creation. Some may simply seek a means of welfare in a partner. Or nothing more than sex.

What we may "expect" in a relationship is not always what we get.

So what is the medicine for a broken heart?

HONESTY!

Tell your partner what you expect, need and require from the relationship. If he/she does not live up to these expectations then you have no other choice but to move forward in your own life. You can not be accountable for others!

But remember that "expectations" are self serving.

Broken hearts will happen. And some are life altering. But not all pain is in vain...................

Unfortuanatly, there is no medicine that can recover heartbreak. It takes a while... and a few times I picked up a bottle from the medicine cabinet just to make sure it didn't say "and for broken hearts" You just have to make yourself move on. Have your greiving day, and then... go pamper yourself. Move on... You can't stay heartbroken forever! You have to patch yourself up... that way... you are ready for the one thing that won't break your heart!

Yes, its called alcohol. Go on a wild drinking spree for about 2 weeks. After that you wouldn't of remembered anything and that the last two weeks were so bad that a little heartbreak is nothing.
