An eating disorder is a mental illness. It is where you use food, or lack of, to control portions of your life. Anorexics refuse food, most of the time they do not feel worthy of eating. They look in the mirror and regardless of how skinny they are, they see fat. Bulimics have a love/hate relationship with food. Generally they will have a very healthy diet outwardly, but behind closed doors they control their eating by consuming large amounts of high fat/calorie foods, then purging the food. Both of these cause terribly side effects to the body. What most people don't know is that overeating is also an eating disorder. People eat for comfort, they eat to fill a void in their life causing morbid obesity. All three of these require serious attention.

An eating disorder is a mental illness focused around food. The most common ones are anorexia and bulemia.
With anorexia, the mind sees the body as fat, no matter how much or little the person weighs, and will go to extremes to lose weight. If not treated, it can be and often is fatal.
Bulimics don't refuse to eat, they eat and then rid their bodies of the food either by throwing up, using laxatives or exercising too hard. Again, even if they're thin, they think they're fat and will go to obsessive extremes to become "thin enough."

The definition of an eating disorder is "any of various psychological disorders, such as anorexia nervosa or bulimia, that involve insufficient or excessive food intake." Anorexia nervosa is a psychological disorder where a person keeps themselves from eating (so basically, starving themselves) because of their obsessive thoughts of needing to lose weight. Bulimia nervosa involves wolfing down (binging) excessive amounts of food (so much that they might end up looking like they were pregnant--causing their stomachs to stretch) and then purging themselves of it right after by either throwing up or taking laxatives. This messes with their body as well as their minds.

an eating disorder is not eating the way that you should which is considered healthy.
bulimia is when a person overeats (gorges) and then purges the food from their system by either taking laxatives or throwing up , which is actually worse than anorexia which is not eating at all , its worse because the acid that comes up can ruin your esophagus etc. , both anorexia and bulimia can lead to many bodily disorders.

A state of mind where your entire life is food, weight, image, control. They are dangerous and deadly. The 'better' you get at having an ED, the deeper you fall. They [EDs] take everything from you, social life, friends, family, health, and eventually your life. They never leave you fully.
Anorexics often fast or restrict until their body has begun to eat itself and they are severely malnourished and underweight. Most suffer from body dismorphic disorder where they look in the mirror and still see fat.
Bulimia consists of binges where large amounts of food are eaten, followed by purging [self-induced vomiting, laxatives, duiretics, or over-exercise.]

Well it's basically when someone feels fat and resort to throwing up the food they ate before it digest. They throw up because they feel bad becuase they ate. And eventually they get so hungary they eat a whole bunch of everything here and there and throw up and become addictive.
