I heard this on the Craig cornett show in the morning on the radio the other day. They tried it out and it made a small geyser come up from the bottle of soda. Whats fun though is to get a 2 liter and put about five or six in there at a time and see if you can put the cap back on when it goes off.

I saw it on one of those investigative shows. The mentos makes the carbonated water in soda become volatile. On this show a standard two litre bottle of pop was placed on a table and a mentos was put into it. Well ever seen a gun fire? Just be damned careful!

i was watching something on cnn the other day. they actually demonstrated it. they put mentos on a string and stood back. it was like a canyon. it shot up really high. very quick but cool.
