No one likes to be humiliated but it depends on how bad you need the job and how quickly you can find another one.

Find another job, then leave that company for something better. Anyone who will belittle you in front of others is a poor leader, and a shame to any company. If they are unhappy with your work performance they should just terminate you, not humiliate you. One thing you could do is record the manager making these comments and record the reactions to those comments by other coworkers. Then you can file a lawsuit against the company for defamation of character, harassment, and mental cruelty. Either way, be looking for work somewhere else in the meantime.

Angry. But I would tell the boss next time pull you aside and tell you what's wrong. Hopefully if they aren’t some hot headed jerk, they will get the message. If they won’t act “professionally,” then get another job. Leave, the money can’t be that good to be willing to have someone treat you like garbage. Evidentially if they have chewed you out already in front of co-workers, there might be no hope they will change their ways.

My boss tried this on me in front of customers.
He then went to his office and some customers commented that he was an a$$hole. So I got the courage to follow him to his office where I told him off, not to do this ever again, and said what the customers thought of him. He was so red-faced and embarrassed all he could do was smile uncomfortably. Then he apologized.
And he had a history of doing this to the employees (and myself) sometimes making them cry. I decided not to put up with his crap anymore. And I was not going to dare give him the satisfaction of quitting. I let him see my smiling face for at least another year or two after this incident. Stand up to your bosses cause they can't take what they dish out.

Humility is a very honorable trait. Lower you head and sincerely thank your superior for taking the time to teach you humility. " The meek shall inherit the earth " If you have made mistakes try to correct them and respect those that point out your mistakes. Do not let your heart be broken and your life ruined by false pride. A humble person is respected by all !

take the boss to his office and discuss this with him or her. If that doesn't work complain to the next boss up. Discipline is necessary at work but it should be done in an ethical way to expect employee improvement. If it can't be resolved consider finding a job more to your liking elsewhere.

You shouldn't feel humiliated if your boss is such an idiot. Your co-workers can probably see what a a**hole he is. I'd feel sorry for him/her if they have to stoop so low to make themselves feel better/ more powerful, or whatever.
There are laws against this type of behaviour; so just give him/her enough rope!

I would say, "Sir, With all due respect, but you are an a** H***."
Then get back to work and file a harrasment complaint with the EAP or any other organization available. Don't forget to get witnesses

I would probably say something like
"Who in the h*** do you think that you are talking to?....I am old enough to be your mother, my kids and my husband do not talk to me like that and you aren't either....do you understand????
and I would wait to be fired..
*actually, I did encounter a situation similar to this about 8 years ago... and used the same words.....he backed down fast !

It depends what he did.
Talk to him like an equal.
He may have had a bad day.
I have done this.
It is not easy being a boss, either.
