It's a life long project. Accepting God and Jesus does not make you act properly. You actually have to do some of the work yourself. Sorry if you have suddenly come to realize YOU are responsible for your actions.

I still don't act properly and I've been a Christian for years...a work in progress I suppose. I'm more inclined to think about my actions and try to follow His laws as closely as possible..especially the "love thy neighbor" commandment..but I'm not a "proper" person. I have alot of compassion though and a deep love for the Word of God that I didn't have before..which is wierdly amazing cuz I didn't achieve that on my own so I know He is working in my life. Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

I still don't act "properly". I am a sinner saved by the grace of God. To suggest that one does not sin is simply a lie.
Now, there are certain things that I used to do that I don't do anymore, such as tobacco, alcohol and drugs. But to say that I am perfect would be a lie. I am not perfect, but I am forgiven.

No one "acts properly." Everyone sins because we're all human. Fortunately God is merciful, and provides the strength we need to practice NOT sinning. When we fall down, He helps us start over again with a clean plate.

Learning new things takes time. What is the proper way you are talking about?? You are not asked to change, you taught to learn. Keep you head up high and listen to the birds singing the words of angels.

it is an on going quest, that has had a few sidesteps along the way, a few choices i have made that i know have not brought a smile to my makers face, thank God for the Forgiveness and blessings along the way, even though i fall short of His glory with my acts in life, my saving grace has redeemed me.

I'm a Christian and believe me, we're not perfect. We have sin in our lives that we deal with all the time. But we know that we can talk to God about it.

Well, for me it was kinda like a 'My Fair Lady' story. He picked me up out of the filth, washed me off and helped me learn how to be a Lady. It took some time.

i wish i'd started acting properly right away...however, it doesn't work that way...anyone who tells you he/she is a Christian and NOT a sinner, is sadly mistaken...it's a marathon, not a sprint, and it's a mighty rocky road...one step at a time, like they say in AA...
