From the Bible point of view, is adultery defined as the involvement of Physical sin i.e. sexual tie apart from marriage bond or is it defined as emotional involvement either sexually or betrayal to the husband. To explain the question: if a women maries a man she should be the glory of man husband and man should be a provider, protector & care taker, etc to be the head of the house. but after the marriage if a women doesnt obay to the husband (consider not from the western culture point of view but from the bible culture point of view) other then sexual relation if she lives always be on the part of her parents and their commends but doesnt consider the husband's suggesion either a small matter or the biggest matter of the life. she never change and never realise the importance of Christian marriage values but only accuses... can she be worthy of considered as a prudent women.God angers on Isrealits and punishes them when they disobay God and obay to idols saying this is Adultery...

In the Jewish Scriptures (Old Testament), adultery is having sexual intercourse with someone with whom you are not engaged or married.

This is why Joseph could have had the Blessed Virgin Mary stoned to death as an adulterer when he found out that she was pregnant.

In the Christian Scriptures (New Testament), Jesus takes the Mosaic Law to a new levels including the commandment about adultery in Matthew 5:27-28:

You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you, everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

With love in Christ.

Only a married woman can commit adultery in the Bible. Sex outside of marriage is fornication, not adultery. While men can cheat on their wife, there is no punishment for such action, indicating a double standard, especially when women are stoned to death for the same thing. Also women who can't "prove" they were virgins on their wedding night are also subject to a good old fashion stoning.

Women who get pregnant by a man other than their husband should have their child aborted (Numbers 5).

That's a tough one.

The Bible probably views it from a sexual point of view, but God could have meant it from a broader point of view.

The funny thing us, Unless Mel Brooks was right and originally there were 15 commandments and Moses dropped a block, there are no commandements aginst Fornication, Beastiality or Homosexuality.

This could lead to the broader conclusion that ADULTERY covers the whole gammut, including the adulteration of things, such as food.

Adultery, by modern terms, has to do with contamination of something by something else or the act of doing it with intent.

Heroin cut with powereded milk is adulterated.

The Bible, as a general rule, tends to take it as meaning cheating on a spouse.

Jesus raises the bar on what Adultery is in Matthew 5:27-28.
"You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart

Why does Jesus say this? In the book of Proverbs 21:2 King Solomon writes: All a man's ways seem right to him, but the LORD weighs the heart.

What does the Lord weigh? The heart, Jesus states that if you have lusted in your heart, you have already committed adultery and on the day of wrath that is appointed and when you get judged are you guilty or innocent?

“Fornicators are unmarried persons who commit immorality. Adulterers are married persons who willingly have sex relations with someone of the opposite sex not their legal marriage mate.” Yet Matthew 19:9 refers to the immorality of a married woman as fornication. Why?

Legally and generally the distinction is made between the two terms, though sometimes fornication is used in a broader sense to take in all sexual immorality. Webster’s unabridged dictionary defines fornication: “Illicit sexual intercourse on the part of an unmarried person; the act of such illicit sexual intercourse between a man and a woman as does not by law amount to adultery. Fornication is sometimes, esp. in the Bible, used to include all sexual intercourse except between husband and wife or concubine; but it is usually distinguished from adultery, and sometimes from incest.” See Matthew 15:19; Mark 7:21, 22; 1 Corinthians 6:9, NW; Galatians 5:19; Hebrews 13:4, NW. “Adultery” “Sexual unfaithfulness of a married person; voluntary sexual intercourse by a married man with another than his wife or by a married woman with another than her husband.”

From the biblical point of view, I believe adultery is mental as well as physical. If you are a man, and you desire another woman besides your wife, you have sinned and committed adultery. If you have physical contact with another woman as well, you have sinned and committed adultery. The wife should always obey her husband for he is the head of the household. If the wife even refuses sex, she has sinned as well because she did not obey her husband. I know that in our modern culture this may sound absurd, but from the biblical point of view, I hope this answers your question.

Mark 10:11: And he said to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another, commits adultery against her;
Mark 10:12: and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery."

Heb 13:4: Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for God will judge the immoral and adulterous.

Adultery is sex outside of marriage. When the Israelites disobeyed God by worshiping idols it was idolatry (not adultery).
A wife should put God first and a husband should be second only to God. A wife is to respect her husband, a husband is to love his wife as Christ loves the church. Try treating your wife better and showing more love. Tell her a husband needs respect.

Fornication is sex between two people that have never been married.
Adultery is sex between two people with whom ever is MARRIED is committing adultery.
If they ar separated it is still adultery.
I guess it is back to fornication if they are divorced and unmarried at the time.
In Gods' eyes though he sees it as adultery unless the other spouse dies. He still considers a man and women married forever.

God's anger with the Israelites for worshipping idols is called idolatry, not adultery. Adultery is cheating on a spouse.
