There you are, you have a TV and a VCR in the same case. they are almost exclusive of each other. the VCR can quit and maybe the TV will still work, or the TV will break and the VCR may work but who cares if you cannot watch it. Generally the power supply dies do to age of the capacitors, or the rubber part in the VCR need to be replaced (belts, pinch rollers,etc). I can't help much more than that since you question is quite vague.
