I mean he full filled every prophesy of the messiah and with the affect he has had on the world, and how the prophies he's made come true, and with they're souls on the line, why don't they accept him? Is it just tradition or do they have an actual reason?

I mean there's a difference between religion and faith, have they failed to accept Christ because of their religion?

A lot of Jewish people have accepted Him as the true Messiah. The majority hasn't because it's not their time to...but it will come. After He was rejected by them the good news of the new covenant was then sent out into the gentile world, where it's still spreading. When the "times of the gentiles" comes to an end, then God will reveal Himself again to the Jews and they will recognize Him. It's all part of His Plan, and it will happen in His time. Thanks to their rejection, the new covenant is open to all mankind...and not just them.

Basically, from a Jewish point of view, Jesus has not fulfilled any prophecy or requirement concerning the Messiah.
Just to give you a small sampler:
- The Messiah is requred to be a direct descendant of King David and Solomon. Since Joseph was not his father and Mary's lineage is irrelevant since lineage goes through the father-son line, thus Jesus was not a "son of David" and thus ineligable to be the Messiah
- The Messiah is to bring world peace and everyone will recognize G-d. That did not happen in Jesus' time and has yet to happen.

The Jews, in Jesus's time, had this thought that the Messiah would be more of a charismatic leader. They though the Messiah would overthrow the Romans and lead the Jews back to their glory days of being an empire.
When Jesus said that His real empire was spiritual not physical, they didn't believe Him And when He died, they did not understand why, so they just thought he was dead like everyone else. They thought the resurrection was framed.

You should all stop bashin this person for askin an honest question. When Jesus came, many of the people were looking for political freedom from Rome. The prophecies they had said that someone would come and 'free' them. The difference, and the reason they believe differently than Christians, is that they expect the prophecies to be fufilled on a political level. They expected the messiah to free them from worldy oppression and stuff like that. Not to free them from sin, and to ensure a place in the afterlife. Jesus offered other-worldy solutions to problems that the Jews saw as needed to be solved here on earth.

Oh jeez...
The Jews have not accepted Christ because they have Mashiach, who is their messiah. It is their religion-their practice for thousands of years. Christianity branched from Judaism. Why should they accept him as the messiah? Because to them he is not the messiah.
Stop with the stupid!

It is my understanding that Jews (and some Islamic people, for that matter) recognize Jesus as a prophet but not as the messiah. I am also curious as to why this is.

Why does everyone have to believe what you believe? I am an Atheist. I don't go around telling everyone that God doesn't exist and stressing out because ppl believe differently than me. I even go to church with my family when I have too! It's my view. You have yours. It's ok for us to have different views- besides, there is nothing you can do about it. We all need to respect each other and just leave it at that.
