I was recently talking to a Turkish Muslim and her opinions of jihad were completly different from the Arab Muslims. She mentioned the phrase "when its threated" over and over. What do American Muslims believe about that versus Middle Eastern Muslims?

Actually most american born Muslims have no idea what their chosen way of worship actually entails.

Most have migrated to this religion thinking it is all about love, and certain sects of it in the USA only teach that principle.

There is even a sect of Muslim in America that uses drugs to help their peaceful worship of their GOD.

In that respect you will find that Christians and Muslims have one thing in common, there will always be off shoots of doctrine.

I did a study on the Muslim religion and it is amazing how many Muslims have no idea of their own history and its conflicting beliefs right in the Koran itself. Muslims explain this away by stating that Muhammad had new visions that told him his earlier visions were wrong, so he had it written into the Koran.

After his wife died, he went on a binge of taking over cities and marrying many different women, most of the marriages were to solidify his postion in that city or area.

On his deathbed, Mohammad said the one thing that let me know for sure he was never a prophet of our Creator. He said that he hoped ALLA would let him enter into heaven. If your a prophet of GOD, you would know that you are his and have no doubts that your life belonged to him, so that you would go be with him.

contrary to common christian belief, jihad is not about war. The quran describes jihad in various steps, the first jihad is the way you live your life through temptations and how steadfast you can be. after that is the jihad with money: charity. the quran sequentially puts the last jihad of war:defend your religion when there is a threat of aggression. the holy war is about defence and not offence. It is a sad fact that certain cowards deliberately confuse the young and desperate muslims by brainwashing and virgins waiting in heaven...to make a few pennies here and there.

Well, my Muslim friend was saying that some people might have interpreted jihad wrongly. It could mean that Jihad against sin, as in the sense war on the sinful nature.

Oh yea, as for my question, i know bout ravi zacharias too, i just feel most peeps dont "give answer for the hope that lies within them" (1pet 3:15).

hope you're having a good day!

Jihad is a very hot topic in Islam. This is a problem that should be resolved ASAP. In one hand, Muslims are told from Quran (Al Anfal, Al Tawba, ...etc) to fight and kill all infidels. In the other hand, they are taught to be nice and peacful to keep a good image of Islam in front of the world.

Black muslims who spell their faith with an o [moslem] are a peacefull nonwarring group. Muslims with the u spelling are unpredictable. Our country has wisely called them fundalmentalists, that is those that are extreme. Turkey has been a very Good friend in the past, but in some of the most recent elections the fundamentalist are getting into Turkey's parliment. The future ????????????

Jihad means "struggle." Not holy war. The terrorist groups have decided to make whatever mission they're on their jihad. I believe that they're sinners and will go to Hell...
