Very few people die there. If you're not good enough, you'll just get kicked out.

If you have what it takes to become a Marine, then you just endure. Pay attention, follow orders without question. The physical demands are more severe than anything you will have ever experienced. You will think you are going to die, but you won't, push through it. You will be in the best physical shape of your life. Probably the only more severe demands in training would be found in Spec Ops training (SEALs, Rangers, Force Recon). The DI's will seem like monsters (well they are pretty close) but they are tearing down the old, useless you and making a Marine. That is a proud and fearful thing. After it's over, you'll be something very few people will ever be, a United States Marine. It get's easier as it goes along. You'll get more to eat, and a little more sleep (though not quite ever enough). Things will start to make sense as you start to think like a Marine. The crucible at the end of boot camp is really tough, but survivable. Best of luck. Semper Fi !!!

I don't know. I'll ask my brother. He joined the Army first and survived that boot camp. Then the meathead joins the Marines and does that boot camp. Then he became a bounty hunter, then guard at the National Archives in DC. Now he is a Pastor. Go figure.
Make sure it is what you want to really do as I hear it is tough.

My husband was in the Corps in the late 60's. He went to Vietnam in '67 and '68. He was only 17 when he joined and told me that it made a man out of him. It was very difficult, but if you have the drive and determination, he knows you can do it. Trust in your own will to see this through. You will have accomplished a great deal and should be proud of yourself. Good luck! Oorah!!

A day at a time, and be physically fit and mentally stupid when you get there. They will tell you how to think, when to get up and all that other stuff. You won't have to worry about a thing...except an IED. If you don't hear the blast you will know you are gone!!

U have a lot of levels of good advice here. However, I would add if you've any doubts whatsoever - don't join. You'll only endanger the men you serve with! When the shooting and the fighting starts (and it will) everyone of your buddies needs to know you'll fight alongside and with them and protects their backs. U can't do that - then side step out of it!
